Yeah, definitely not the case. The three berries are generally the best (Strawberry, blueberry, and cranberry), and if you plant them at the beginning of the season, you can reap numerous harvests of them before the end of the season. I also had a fair bit of Hops in Summer too, because when kegged, they produce a good profit too.
The only downside to this, the strawberry seeds you can't get until the Easter festical about halfway through Spring. So the initial plant only gets two harvests in season... and you won't really have the cash on hand to buy more. (You only get one chance per year to buy them, unless you can get them in the Desert shop, but I keep forgetting to check)
Also, something I noticed about this game, is that, as a general rule, the longer you can wait for your investments, the more they're worth. Farming is great, but if you can craft kegs and preserves, you can throw your crops in those and make even more cash. x3
Of course, I may havealso expanded my crop farm numerous times, to the point where it now takes almost 30 Iridium Sprinklers to keep everything watered... xD (Yeah, my crop farm is pretty massive)
That's probably also why I pretty much skipped Winter 2. Yeah, I did some kegging and preserving, a mines raid or two, but that was about it.
Everyone has their purpose but for me its just amassing money. Dont care for the relationship crap seems kind of boring to me. I need more iridium though so that is my end game and skull caves.
By year 3 I'm probably going to average around 150-200k per harvest with around 4 harvests on average per season, so my budgeted margins in year 3 is based around a 3.2M income, with around 30% of that going in costs.
Yeah, my little farm is run like a business, and my goal is to harvest as much gold as I can :)
Oh, Pale Ale is also awesome for early players. I have 24 reserved places for Hops in greenhouse just because of that.
I'll have the greenhouse by summer of year 2, meaning I can have a permanent 8K/day (approx) from hops. I'll likely also grow blueberries for pure profit, cranberries and pumpkins.
I'm currently on First Year, Day 2 of Summer, and my total earnings are 21K. I can't help but feel like I'm doing it all terribly wrong.
