Pierre not in store

First day of spring. I need to buy seeds but Pierre is not in the store? Tried several times during the day as well as reloading.

Ginger Island is the only reason he would be gone, but you can still click the counter and purchase seeds.

Which will show he doesn't tend any mythical wine barrels, nor go to his room to drink said wine.

if ginger island was the problem than there woud be a signboard on the counter saying you can still trade.
