Once you hit 10 hearts with someone do you still lose hearts over time?

dont think heart will drop even how many you have with someone. I gave Jas a cookie at her birthday for years, and she is still remaining 2 hearts ever since.

i swear i used to see my wife(haley)'s heart decreased to 9 after married her for a while.
but only once, it's still a mystery why since i talked to her everyday and often gifts.
other villagers' hearts dropped a little over time idk, and it's been so long since i dug the trashcan. wtf is wrong with mine?

I believe it was -2 points per day without any interaction. One hearts like 60 points I think. Also, your spouse gets jealous if you gift other villagers I think. It wasn't confirmed, but I read it somewhere.

it is confirmed that spouse gets jealous if you do not interact with them, not gifting them, or gifting another marriage candidates.

also, according to wiki, once best friend, stay best friend. BFF !

If you reach 10 hearts with a non-marriage candidate or 8 hearts with a bachelor/bachelorette to whom you have not given a bouquet, the row of hearts will no longer decay even if you do not speak to them ever again.

I don't think you can even get to 10 hearts with multiple people. And the only way you can lose hearts is by giving them terrible presents, saying things they disagree with, or not talking to them for a long time (not sure about this, don't take my word for it)
