But in general, ore, coal, and money aren't an issue in the late game. I wish I had the ability to increase my geode find. But that's easily negated if you know in advance to save what you find and duplicate it via crystalarium.
Luck increasing food, will help you find more deposits of ore and gem as better luck, gives you a better chance of producing those, when game generates a cave/mine floor.
Other than that, I took the gemologist and geologisisit perks, and its proved decent. Getting 2 of a gem, definately helps make money when gems get an extra 30% so I would say the perks work best together.
An average mining day will net me 4k-7k on the mining, a good day 10-12k, and a great day (once had 12 diamonds in 1 day) was 20-24k. Now that I am in summer of 2nd year, and have built over a dozen crystalariums, I nearly always can make an average day good, or bring a good one closer to great.
Geodes only come from mining regular rocks, right? I don't see me doing a lot of this later, but maybe bombing them could be an option...
And for selling bars, one would need lots of furnaces I suppouse.
That's the one profession I'm clueless of what to chose, that's why I stopped mining from now. :P
But yeah - just mining every regular stone, I'm lucky if I get 8 in a day. And for some reason, I can't ever get the thing I need when I process them.
If the perk would increase those odds it would be really good! So maybe the perk that increase selling price for bars or gems then...
(well I COULD also do the Community Center by buying stuff at Traveling Cart, but that will take forever)
The difference is that what is farmed, is not for profits, its for ingredients.
You then take those ingredients, and cook the proper foods to help with your chosen proffesional focus.
As pointed out, when mining, I use luck increasing food to increase the generation rate of ore/gem deposits in the mine/caves. I use speed increasing food, so I can move thru floors faster. I use combat increasing food, for when you hit infested floors, and so on and so on.
A fisherman on the other hand, should grow more potatoes, make hashbrowns, then use sardines and those to make Dish of the Sea. Increase that fishing rate, and make it faster and easier to get those fish.
The right food + proffesion= maximizing that proffesion. Without the food, your production is more around that of a hobbiest.
