Seasonal Seed Packets
Curious why seasonal (Spring, Summer, etc) seed packets are just not called mixed seeds. With Mixed Seed Packets you have the expectation of some of your plants dying. With the Specific Season...one assumes its a mix bag of whatever grows in that season. I planted 30 Summer packets and 3/4ths of them died (in summer time). So if they contain out of season seeds...why not just use the mixed seeds that are found in forageing (scything weeds)? Why raise false hope?

Well, the spring, summer, fall and winter seeds are giving you the forageables of their respective season. So instead of walking around the map to forage daffodils or leeks or whatnot, you can grow these things with each seasonal seed.

The mixed seeds will give you mixed seeds from farming in that season.

I've never had a seed dying or not producing anything after few days. You sure you watered them up? Maybe a witch came by and gave you bad luck?

I don't understand where all these claims of "dying" come from. You're sure it's not crows or lightning?

I never see seeds die.

Yeah, not sure myself. One of the dying plants was a melon seed that I bought and planted. Going to remove the mods (Changed all the male love interests into female and their dialogue) which should not have had an effect on plants but you never know..

Plants were watered and Scarecrow covering them (well withing SC radius) there were several days of rain and one of lighting but I didn't know lightning could take out plants (Half of a 5x5 field). I would figure it would take out the Scarecrow first in that case.

Ground was tilled, base fertilizer applied, ground watered, then seeded. Its my standard way. The 30 packs of summer seeds were from completing a Community Center Bundle (likely Summer Forage).

I can't think of anything else. Ive experienced the weed bug in the Greenhouse in another game and previous patch version but this wasn't it.

As Slacker said, One of the plants from each season's seeds has a stage of growth that looks like it's dead (it's brown) but if you keep watering it it'll grow just fine.

Also, mixed seeds will ALWAYS grow during the season you plant them in. They become a random seed from that season. The seasonal seed packets on the other hand become one of the foragable things that you normally find randomly around town. They are very much different things.

If the plant looked shrivelled up, it was lightning. If it was just gone, it was crows. The seasonal seeds have only the forageable crops from that season.

So do lighting rods help or hinder this? Because with my experimentation they don't seem to matter one or another (Used only to get batteries). I have trees and crops blasted near and far away from LRs.
