The mixed seeds will give you mixed seeds from farming in that season.
I've never had a seed dying or not producing anything after few days. You sure you watered them up? Maybe a witch came by and gave you bad luck?
I never see seeds die.
Plants were watered and Scarecrow covering them (well withing SC radius) there were several days of rain and one of lighting but I didn't know lightning could take out plants (Half of a 5x5 field). I would figure it would take out the Scarecrow first in that case.
Ground was tilled, base fertilizer applied, ground watered, then seeded. Its my standard way. The 30 packs of summer seeds were from completing a Community Center Bundle (likely Summer Forage).
I can't think of anything else. Ive experienced the weed bug in the Greenhouse in another game and previous patch version but this wasn't it.
Also, mixed seeds will ALWAYS grow during the season you plant them in. They become a random seed from that season. The seasonal seed packets on the other hand become one of the foragable things that you normally find randomly around town. They are very much different things.
