Why not marry any older person? I would like to get Linus off the street or tent or outdoors, whatever you'd like to call it, but I can not marry him, although I really like his character. Makes me pretty sad and honestly: Maybe you think there are already enough other possibilities but nowadays a lot of people with big age difference marry, so why not marrying an older guy like that fisherman or this hobo Linus? I don't get it? Could you please enable marriage for all those people that live alone anyways? Would be awesome and I really have no crush for any of those young guys, they are all far too busy, I prefere more relaxed characters ;)

Calling the bachelor/ettes young is rather stupid seeing how in most countries you have to be at least 18, an adult, to marry. Sure, that's young, but compared to what you're trying to say, they're old enough for it.
You don't need to have a crush on any of them, either marry them based on the most similiar personality or just for the benefit of it.

I guess the game is just worth putting your heart a bit into it, because the developer definately did that a lot himself at creating it and I personally would just love to be able to choose the character I want to marry and not be restricted by the age of the other person (except of kids ofc), at least my opinion ;) Using anyone for benefit of marrying her or him, that's not love, but with one thing you are right, lots of people do that, also in real life, sad enough.

There was a voting a while back for new marriagible canidates.

The guys were:
Shane (he won)
Linus
Clint
Wizard

The gals were:
Emily (she won)
Marnie
Sandy
Pam

So the option was put out there with a few older canidates but none of them won. If I was going to go for older people though, I probably would of went for Marnie - since the Mayor wants to keep their relationship secret. As to an older guy... Probably Linus would be my pick. I've kind of thought that if you married Leah or Elliot and had a certain amounts of hearts with Linus that it would be neat for there to be a little cut scene where you and your spouse gift their former home to him. Oh well, lol, maybe someday in the future.

you do release that makin them bachelorres/bachelorettes requires a little more efor from CA then just 'enabling' it right ? he's already adding 2 new bachelorres/bachelorettes next update so... part from that just tweet CA about it (as he rarely visits steam forums)

it's actually not that hard to add more candidates, as there is a mod that enables every single NPC excepts Lewis to be available for marriage. But CA wants a more throughout storyline rather than just more options, so he is putting more into each candidate's background and such.

Yes I do know how much work it takes, I got an exact idea about the developers work, but there are games that would take a lot more work for changes, stardew valley is compaired to "modern" games pretty easy in its development, so it is not that much of a big deal. Its not that important but I believe the game could gain by it and it definately is a matter of heart. Maybe anyone could tweet it for me to him, because I never did that before and got no clue how to do that? Just copy my post from steam please and tweet it to the developer if you would love to see also more characters to be enabled for marriage?! Big Thanks if you do :)

How about the ones that are already with someone? That would be hard to implement. They'd have to divorce or something. It would be fun though to have Demetrius going from 8 hearts to 0 hearts because you married Robin! hehe

Marnie would have been interesting especially as it should create conflict with a certain other person.
