Anyone else missing a church in this game?
Dunno why but im missing a church in this game. Maybe cause of harvest moon. I still remember the time i stood in front of a tombstone when i lost a pet. ;( And in the background there was a church. A church with a cemetery.

So im missing a church with cemetery.

Btw: Im also missing jumping over the fence. :) Anyone else?

P.S. : Dont get me wrong, im loving this game and appreciate to have it. :)

There is a religious following in the town. There is even an idol set up for worshipping at Pierre's, although you will find out it was built by previous owners. That has been more than enough to give me my fill of religious vibes.

There is already a religious altar in Pierre's shop.
If that isn't enough for you, just get a mod for it.

Given the Junimos' presence and the fact they can clearly work "miracles" to repair parts of the town, I think there's plenty of room in the narrative for some help from the forest spirits. The Altar of Yoba might be a logical place to interact with the spirit world; although grandpa's shrine would also make a convenient place to convene with the spirits (maybe after all 4 candles are lit?)

I think it could be a nice way to implement a resource sink for high-quality crops and artisan goods to leave as offerings. Various "prayers" (pray for luck the next day, pray for rain which guarantees your rain totem will work, pray for your crops to grow faster or give better quality produce...) could act as a nice way to boost your progress and reward living in balance with nature.

I don't think it's strictly necessary; but as the OP points out such a system could be nice for players who want some kind of deeper connection to Stardew's spirits. It would be a good excuse to add another Stardrop, and honestly I think it would be worth it just so that there's a place for the Junimos to jump around when the community centre isn't an option for them anymore.

All of the above.

I'd also like to add that while I'm not a very religious person, I like to have a building of worship in my game or in proximity in real life. It's calming and there's a sense of grandeur emanating from that. The altar in the back of Pierre's shop is nice, but it's no church.

But yeah, maybe the dev will add that in a later update, maybe there's gonna be a mod for it, or maybe there already is and I haven't found it yet.

Why do you wish to bring stupid religions into everything? Nuts.

I agree, I couldn't give two flying Fu... foxes... If the game had anything religious... But it wouldn't bother me if there was... So long as no one is trying to force that BS on me xD

Pretty much.
If the game is going to add praying or such, then make an option to turn it on and off.
I don't like the idea of being forced to do religious acts when I'm not, it doesnt' feel right even though it's a game. Might just be me though.
But yeah, I agree.

I agree with this sentiment. As I said above, I have my fill of religious undertones with what is already in the game. If they were to add even more, I would be a little annoyed. It would have to be purely optional. The balance right now is perfect.

So all this talk of extra things to aquire if you participate in prayer...nu uh. That ship does not sail well with me.

If "prayer" buffs or items DO get added, make their be an optional route to aquire them. Like, for example, if you had trouble subjecting yourself to religious practice for that new shiny item, they could add a Joja route, to get science to perform the "miracle" instead.
