What does it say when you click them? Are they happy?
What time at night do you close them? Not sure it matters. I honestly have stopped paying attention to the hearts. So I miss little deductions for things wrong. I get consistent produce everyday.
But I did notice once I started closing the barn doors AS SOON AS THEY GO IN, which seems to finish at about 6 pm, that my goat gave milk much more often. I am aware that the goat gets sad when the door isn't closed, and I always thought if I did it right before bed, no matter how late, it wouldn't matter. Once I changed it to right at 6, i noticed a difference in production yield. But only with one animal, so not really sufficient proof. Coulda been coincidence or bias.
Again, pure theory, no practice or proof. Very likely it could just be a bug, but ya never know. Good luck.
