Strange unearthly 'crackling' during lightning storm!

New to the game here. Just in mid-summer of my first year and trying to learn everything. Was on the way back to the farm from the saloon during a heavy rain storm with very loud lightning. As I got to the farm I'm hearing some terrible sounds. Almost like trees being ripped up from the ground and then a metallic sound. I tried to see what it was but didn't see anything different. Also had an earthquake during the night a few night previous but can't find anything changed by it.
Do anyone know what that is as it freaked me out, already freaked by the 'frogs' or whatever moaning sounds every now and then. lol

The earthquake did nothing at your farm, but opened up the way to the spa above Linus's tent. To the left of his tent there are new stairs to the train tracks & the spa. I had lightning hit a tree I was standing close to once. Destroyed the tree & my tap that was in it, but I don't remember it as sounding metallic. I have no idea what that was about, but when you can, either donate 10k to the Community Center vault to get a lightning rod, or make one. It will help tame some of the lightning & give you power packs as well

lightning makes a metallic noise when it hits a path.

You hear the wham, then the Timber sound like when you cut down a tree

Wow. I didn't know the lightning in the game did more than just flash and thunder a lot. Good to know this. Thanks for the answers. I'm really enjoying this game a lot, and to think I found out about it totally by accident. lol.
