Fruit Trees Help
I suck at growing them, I probably spam grew a bunch and I only have one functioning apple tree and none of the others. I even bought multiple pomengrante seeds and planted them places outside my farm in hopes of growing it correctly and no such luck. I just need a pomengranate and now I'll have to wait another year to get a tree working correctly to finish my final bundle, unless the pig lady sells it??

Anyway can anyone help me with formatting and organizing a fruit tree farm correctly? Itll be a bunch of help and with pictures, even better, thanks!

One block? It says eight

One block surrounding it.

Actually I think it's 2 blocks in every direction. I tried putting one block between each tree once and I got a message that said it was too close to another tree. So I put 2 spaces between them and they grow just fine.

This.
And when fully grown, do whatever the ♥♥♥♥ you want with it.

Oh, once they are grown you don't have to listen to the 8-space rule? And they will keep producing fruit?

when you plant the tree put a fence around it but keep a block distance between it and the tree, this way you protect it from the fiber and grass.

Fruit trees need 1 empty block around it in every direction, and those empty spaces can't also be shared by another fruit tree, which is why there needs to be 2 spaces in between fruit trees. When they're fully grown and can produce fruit, I put paths around them.

Make sure you check behind the tree, I had a regular tree seed land behind one once, took me a week to realize it was there.

If just growing one tree, just make sure there's a circle around it with nothing in it; no tall grass, no dug holes (can fill these in with pickaxe) and no other tree seeds.

If you're growing multiple fruit trees, leave 2 spaces between them. So in 9 squares, you can have 3 fruit trees.

Normal trees just need 1 space, though.

After the tree is done growing, you can put tiles or a fence around it if you want. I don't think it really matters if you do or not, I just think it looks better, since my farms have "roads". Stone/quarts path through the farm, and wood pathing around all the lakes and trees.

A good way to visualize is thinking about the quality sprinkler, http://i.imgur.com/ZRKWYRT.png the quality sprinkler in the second one in this pic, it water the 8 adjacent tiles, now think about the sprinkler as the fruit tree and the wet area as the necessary clear space for the tree to grow, 2 trees dont share the same clear space so to plant one next to the other you need to leave 2 empty spaces between them.
