Remake Junimo Kart
Please, remake that minigame, never in my whole life have I played such an unbalanced, unfair and broken minigame ever. It's unfair that we have to rely 85% on luck and only 15% on skill to beat that thing.

To fix the minigame, the levels could be pre-made and the endless mode can remain the same way (randomly generated).

Some of you may ask "why would you care? it's not a big deal", well I am a completionist and i'm fighting for 100% on this one, there's a reward to it.

You've clearly never been to an arcade full of classic arcade machines, then, arcade games were specifically designed to be unfair so that people would have to spend more quarters.

How's that fun?

@Dee Twenty
Yes I have and I am aware of that, but these are modern times and we don't need an unfair and broken minigame in such a gem like Stardew Valley. Why add something completely frustrating and unfair? if you want that you could still have endless mode, all i'm asking is to remake the progression mode, that's it.

You're literally saying "Who cares how it was designed, it's not as easy as I want, they should remake it"

It's fine. Just keep playing. It's really not that bad once you learn how to play it.
It's not about learning how to play it, that's the major issue. When it's fair I can go through it nicely without any problem, but then the game expects me to make impossible stunts and that removes all the fun because it doesn't rely on the player's skill.
Just look at some games that contain proceduraly generated endless levels such as Subway Surfers, you will rarely find impossible spots that will make you lose. This minigame could have that same fun style but instead it's just a mess that few people will ever replay it after they beaten it.

I barely touched the mini game. The only thing that happens as I recall out of the mini game is you get a machine that you can play at home of the game, so I'd say you can just... not play it? The game's got so much else you don't even have to bother with the Junimo Cart.

So "Subway Surfers" gets a pass on having impossible spots rarely, but Jumino Cart doesn't because?

I've never once had an impossible spot come up. You just have to learn how to time your jumps better.
It gets a pass because those spots are extremely rare, and even in those spots you can use powerups to save yourself. In this mini-game, those spots happen 85% of the times. Seriously, how can you even defend this?

If you never once had an impossible spot then you either didn't play enough or you had a lot of luck.

Junimo Kart is broken. When you respawn in places where you have to auto die again and again. That's broken and needs fixing.

It's like if you were playing sonic, die on spikes and respawn on said spikes with no invincability frames.

Needs something like idk checkpoints that can only be on long flat areas where you have time to build speed to make any jump.

Finally someone who can actually see the issue about the minigame. I'm shocked there's people saying the minigame is fine as it is, I guess they already beaten it so they don't care if other people have trouble beating it aswell.

This thread is ridiculous, its supposed to be a challenge....nerf it so that everyone can take home their consolation prize!
dynastystar May 12, 2016 @ 8:02am
I'd rather him focus on making changes to the game that are more necessary. If you don't like the mini game, don't play it.

And that reply is ridiculous, challenges are meant to be hard, not unfair and broken. That's the big difference, if it's broken it needs to be fixed.

@Dynastystar
I play it because I want to get 100%. Not playing it isn't a valid solution, the minigame isn't well executed and it's needed to progress towards a perfect game.

Seriously guys, are you against this because you spent tons of time beating it and now you don't want anyone else to get a slightly easier way to beat it? You're blindly defending one of the most broken and unfair minigames in gaming history.
Things can be hard without being unfair (and sometimes impossible), it can be decently easy to design some pre-made levels that are hard to beat, that's how it should've been. Relying on luck rather than skill is purely stupid if you ask me.

And thats your choice. I recommend everybody to pass on playing something they don't like. Don't like the Junimo Cart game? Don't touch it. Don't like Fishing? Edit your file and have the Fish you need for bundles put in your inventory and you won't have to ever Fish again or go down the Joja route. Don't like how a character is portrayed in another game? Don't buy it, don't play it and put money towards something you actually approve of. Don't like that the protagonist is of a certain race, gender, or sexuality? Don't buy or play it. The world shouldn't have to bend over backwards to meet your needs.

Go to the sticky of Suggestions and count how many people are saying to have the Junimo Cart changed. Now count how many people are suggesting bug catching(personally I never understood the appeal of the idea, but when I was subscribed to the thread, it was very popularily requested), the ability to move buildings, or being able to expand when the player can save the game. Look at what else is being frequently being suggested. You are in the minority.

Edit: Also, try requesting somebody to do a mod that makes the whole track for every Junimo Cart level to be flat. Surely that would fix your problem, right?

Assumptions make an ass out of you and me.
Am I wrong about it though? Didn't you beat the minigame? Of course you did.

Sick exaggerations bro
You expect me to take your replies seriously after that? I'm not your "bro", treat me with respect and I will respect you back.

Again, that other game gets a pass on the rare impossible moment, but Jumino cart doesn't get a pass on the rare impossible moment.
When will you ever understand that Jumino Cart doesn't have a rare impossible moment? I already explained this to you, the game sometimes expects you to make jumps that you simply can't make it, no matter how skilled and how perfect your timing is, you will fail because the jump is vertically or horizontally impossible to reach.

The only problem with it is sometimes it respawns you in a bad spot. Other than that, it's fine. Just keep replaying it.
There's few more problems besides that:
- The impossible jumps
- The clipping issues when you jump on the edge sometimes
- The strenght of your jumps almost feels random and not dependant on your mouse click

Stop complaining about being bad and not wanting to get better. Just practice.
I don't want to brag, but i'm quite good at arcade games, this isn't about being bad and this certainly isn't about not wanting to get better. You can't become better when you have to rely purely on luck, it's not about practice, PLEASE GET THAT INSIDE YOUR HEAD. This minigame punishes people who have any skills because they can barely use them.

Now, since you have been avoiding making sense and you're not even trying to understand the issue, I will stop wasting my time replying to you. If you finally understood the issue, I will be glad to reply to you again.

No thanks, I don't cheat. I just want a fair game, not an easy game. Is it so bad asking for a fix?

Oh, so you want a challenge after all? I was under the impression that you were just wanting to get 100%. Make up your mind.

I want a fair challenge, a challenge that doesn't need to be beaten by luck, but by skill instead.

I want to get 100% by playing legit. Is it so hard to understand? Seriously...

Well tough ♥♥♥♥. Thats the way the cookie crumbles. I would think alot of games have an achievement that is tedious, or not as fun to get for one way or another. What makes Stardew Valley any different? because ConcernedApe cares and updates the game post-launch? Well guess what, there are lots of other things that lots more people want updated for the game. Get in line.
