Exit to main menu
I could list a lot of features that could be in the game but there's one particular feature that's not only easy to implement, it's also very important and it makes no sense not to have it in the next update.

We need a simple button to return to the main menu rather than having to exit to desktop and loading the game again.

I don't see a lot of reasoning behind implementing this feature to be honest. You can only create a new character or load an old one from the main menu.

Why do we need a mean to exit to main menu already? You play the game until you're bored then you exit the game. If you want to play a new game then exit and reload. It's not hard.

Seems completely unneccessary.

This.

The reason a lot of people want it is because they use it to "Reset" their day. For various reasons.

I know all we can do is start a new game or load, and that is exactly all people want. A quicker means to start over from 6 AM, rather than exit out of the game and reload. I personally don't mind, the game takes literally seconds to boot back up for me.

Just trying to provide some insight as to why so many people are ((reasonably)) asking for a feature most games come with. I wouldn't say it is top priority, not by a longshot. But it would be a great polishing feature :3

Doesn't matter if you find "resetting" the day to be cheap or not, fact is, loads of players do it, so why not cater to a healthy majority of peoples playstyles?
Seraphita May 7, 2016 @ 1:15pm
I reset the day if I do a real bad mistake and this happens rarely. Not saying I am "amazing" but saying that bad mistakes rarely happen for me anyway. Still, if it must happen, I just exit and reload. I have a feeling a return to main menu would only feed people who can't waste few seconds.

I am actually very surprised people don't want this feature (even though i've seen some demand on the forums before).

It's a basic standard in gaming, you need a way to exit to the main menu. Some people like to have multiple profiles and they certainly don't want to leave the whole game just to switch to another profile.

It just doesn't make sense to me having such a simple feature out of the game just because some people think it's unecessary. I understand if some of you don't need it, but think about those who could actually benefit from it, I for one hate the fact that I need to leave the game just to restart a day because of a single mistake. It's already a hassle to restart the whole day and now we also have to restart the whole game? come on now...

It's simple to implement, I highly doubt it will hurt the game's development in any way.

Why multiple profile, though? This game is not the kind of game you play with multiple characters unless you love multi-grinding. We're far from the animal crossing idea where multiple characters live in the same town, if you see what I mean. I don't quite follow WHY this is needed.

If there was to be such a menu though, we could just put it into escape button. We need to hold said button to quit but the escape alone is not currently used for anything I believe.

I would happily feed any majority of my playerbase. I applaud you for your methods, but as I have said before, a game should not be catered towards the super elite. It isn't a useful feature for you, and it isn't one you can see a point in.

But as has been pointed out, there are a handful of legit reasons why this function would be handy for the game. If it helps out a significant portion of players, then why not? It is not as though they have to develope an entire new army of assets, it is a menu function. Something that still takes effort to do, to be sure, but not one that would detract from the overall course of future updates :3

The moment a decent portion of the community asks for a feature, that's when you see how it important it is, no matter if you personally don't need it or not.

Some people have multiple profiles because they probably don't like to share their own with someone who plays at the same computer, so each person can have their own separate profile. Another example, there's two major paths to take in this game, that justifies the need for multiple profiles.

I could understand if this game was in Early Access, but it's not, the fact that the button isn't there makes me think of those alpha games that are still far away from a feature-complete state. It's not hard to implement, I understand it's a one man job but i've seen many indie develpers who work alone and all of their games had this simple feature.

Well, I see that. It's why I've given a possible option for it on my 2nd part of post just before yours. Tap escape for menu such as "exit to menu or pause" but I think that's used already for item or not sure what... Hold it for exit. If not esc, it could be another button. Or wait...

Maybe put the exit to main menu or title among the windows that appear when we press esc.

Multiple bachelors and bachelorettes, two different approaches to bundles, the widespread condition that many MMO players are diagnosed with known as altitis that causes one to create multiple additional characters purely for the sake of having multiple additional characters to choose from when they feel like a change of appearance.

Why not just add a ''Save and exit to main menu'' instead? Would satisify plenty.

Thanks for so many replies explaining why people want it but see my post above... :exas:

That's what I meant. But I think many like the hold esc for exit anyway. There is plenty of space inside the esc menu for a "save and quit". I'd set for that... It cannot be a bad idea, right?

You wanted us to give you reasons why the feature is needed after you clearly stated you didn't want the dev to "feed" people who don't want to waste some "seconds".

Heh heh, give people time. We see that you made a suggestion, but it also was only 8 minutes ago you said "I don't quite follow WHY this is needed". Plenty of people type at healthy mellow speeds~
