I know all we can do is start a new game or load, and that is exactly all people want. A quicker means to start over from 6 AM, rather than exit out of the game and reload. I personally don't mind, the game takes literally seconds to boot back up for me.
Just trying to provide some insight as to why so many people are ((reasonably)) asking for a feature most games come with. I wouldn't say it is top priority, not by a longshot. But it would be a great polishing feature :3
Doesn't matter if you find "resetting" the day to be cheap or not, fact is, loads of players do it, so why not cater to a healthy majority of peoples playstyles?
It's a basic standard in gaming, you need a way to exit to the main menu. Some people like to have multiple profiles and they certainly don't want to leave the whole game just to switch to another profile.
It just doesn't make sense to me having such a simple feature out of the game just because some people think it's unecessary. I understand if some of you don't need it, but think about those who could actually benefit from it, I for one hate the fact that I need to leave the game just to restart a day because of a single mistake. It's already a hassle to restart the whole day and now we also have to restart the whole game? come on now...
It's simple to implement, I highly doubt it will hurt the game's development in any way.
If there was to be such a menu though, we could just put it into escape button. We need to hold said button to quit but the escape alone is not currently used for anything I believe.
I would happily feed any majority of my playerbase. I applaud you for your methods, but as I have said before, a game should not be catered towards the super elite. It isn't a useful feature for you, and it isn't one you can see a point in.
But as has been pointed out, there are a handful of legit reasons why this function would be handy for the game. If it helps out a significant portion of players, then why not? It is not as though they have to develope an entire new army of assets, it is a menu function. Something that still takes effort to do, to be sure, but not one that would detract from the overall course of future updates :3
Some people have multiple profiles because they probably don't like to share their own with someone who plays at the same computer, so each person can have their own separate profile. Another example, there's two major paths to take in this game, that justifies the need for multiple profiles.
I could understand if this game was in Early Access, but it's not, the fact that the button isn't there makes me think of those alpha games that are still far away from a feature-complete state. It's not hard to implement, I understand it's a one man job but i've seen many indie develpers who work alone and all of their games had this simple feature.
Maybe put the exit to main menu or title among the windows that appear when we press esc.
Multiple bachelors and bachelorettes, two different approaches to bundles, the widespread condition that many MMO players are diagnosed with known as altitis that causes one to create multiple additional characters purely for the sake of having multiple additional characters to choose from when they feel like a change of appearance.
That's what I meant. But I think many like the hold esc for exit anyway. There is plenty of space inside the esc menu for a "save and quit". I'd set for that... It cannot be a bad idea, right?
Heh heh, give people time. We see that you made a suggestion, but it also was only 8 minutes ago you said "I don't quite follow WHY this is needed". Plenty of people type at healthy mellow speeds~
