Continuing to give gifts...
Is there anything to gain by continuing to give people gifts after you've maxed out the relationship? I know when you give a bouquet or get married there are more hearts to fill but if I just keep gifting, say, Jodi some pancakes twice a week is there any benefit at all?

Your spouse can drop down to 10, and can get whiny, so keep them gifted.

Everyone else, since your maxxed out, you can skip, since at max, their hearts will not drop below 10
Dang I was kind of hoping there were more recipes or cutscenes or something.

People lose 2 friendship points every day you ignore them. A loved gift gives 80, a liked gift gives 45, and talking to them gives 20 points a day. So you can use gifts to safely ignore people for a while and avoid their hearts going down.

Until their hearts are 10 (8 for marriage candidates w/o the flower. With the flower is 10, i think), then the points don't decay

I believe it's different if you're married. Not sure it it decays or not.

I have no idea where you got that from, because it's so wrong it makes me question if you even played this game. But I assume it's because you think 1 heart=1 friendship point. It doesn't. Each heart is 250 points. So if you have someone with 770 points, they'll have 3 hearts. Just because they still have 3 hearts tomorrow doesn't mean they don't lose hearts. They would have 768 tomorrow, which is still 3 hearts. In 11 days, they would have 748, and drop down to 2 hearts.

Sorry to necro, but I was just researching this and came across this thread and wanted to reply in case others also found it.

Kinne, He got it from the wiki. Your condescension probably isn't necessary.

"When a villager's heart meter is full, it will no longer decay over time even if you never talk to them. (If the NPC is romanceable but you haven't given them a bouquet, the heart meter is considered full at 8 hearts.) It may still decrease by other means (e.g. giving them a bad gift)."
