A better gate?
So i am riding my horse, open the gate to the barn area, then i right click to close it, and woops, i'm off the horse.
So, point is, can we add something that only stops the farm animals from going through?

I'd rather see an option that you aquire riding skill or rodeo/bronco riding skills or steeplechase training and then you can have your horse jump obstacles.

I get annoyed that the horse gets stuck on corners sometimes and can't fit through small bushes or those fern things spaced 2 away from each other or simply riding right over them. Provided there's nothing on the other side of a 1-space obstacle, I'd love to just jump over it with my horse or in the case of ferns, riding through it.

As-is, it's almost impossible to ride from Marnie's to the library/blacksmith area if you're taking the southernly route. Yeah, you can circumvent going up then over eastward toward Lewis' house then cutting south then east over the bridge, but it's no direct route while mounted. If possible, I'd kindly ask that the devs consider moving a shrub or two from the southern route.

Plus, it'd be a cool mini-game that you could participate in rodeos or steeplechase events. Why not?

In your case, it'd be cool to hurdle that gate. Or have an automatic gate that opens for you if you approach on mount but keeps animals inside.

Maybe they could add like an iridium gate, which opens for you?
Also i like your idea of a riding skill, to make you able to jump over objects and such.

You need to have it in the middle of two fences.

Automatic doors would be nice.

Also, isn't it weird that you have to click to open any door to enter a structure, but once you enter, all you have to do is exit if you want to leave. There's no interaction on the way out besides walking out.

Anyone find that mildly facsinating? I half wonder if inner-space areas couldn't be made into WoW-style instances instead.

Living in a rural, mostly farming area, I think a cattle grate gate would be along the lines of what you're looking for (though riding a horse over it would be difficult probably, unless the horse shoes were large enough or have it jump over it, to prevent the horse from falling into it). Basically, any cows or anything along those lines aren't able to cross the grate gate or else their leg will fall through, causing them to think twice before trying it again.

Here's a pic

You need to have it in the middle of two fences.

Psst: If you put it ON a fence (also between two other ones), it will turn into the material/color. So hardwood/iron doors instead of the standard one.
