Needs difficulty levels!
Does anyone else find it too easy to make money? Please share your opinion.

Personally I am more of a hardcore gamer, I like to almost struggle. I find it way too easy to just stack up on specific crops, or just farm lots of crops. Also the sprinklers make it too easy to mass produce crops.

If you agree, please bump up this post!

This isn't a game meant to be hard. It's just relaxing.

I agree, it's not mean't to be a 'hard' game. Its casual. Just have fun with it.

You should have maxed all the villagers hearts, if you really want to brag how easy it is.

As Princess Daisy said, I am in year 2 more money to spend it on and married with full hearts, gold tools, all my animals have full hearts. The only thing I can do now is finish off the collections and get as much money as I can.

If you are happy with planting a few crops, have 4 animals and sleep as soon as you water you crops and feed your animals, thats great.
What I would like is another difficulty, so people can be happy with their casual mode while I can have a harder mode.

HM/SoS has been in the casual/farming market already. If Stardew Valley only has a casual mode it is just another HM clone.
I have been following the game for years, paid as soon as it came out on steam and booked weeks off work to play. We have a great dev, and I dont want this game to become just "Harvest Moon for PC".

As I said, if you are happy with only having a casual mode dont bother commenting. I posted this in hope to add a new feature. Nothing changes unless you say what you want to change.

While this is meant to be more of a relaxing game it can cater to many playstyles, though currently there are no extra difficulty or 'balance' mods as of yet (that I've seen) but you can choose to limit yourself in terms of doing certain things that just make the game too easy for you. So, be on the look out for mods that will change up your game in whatever fashion you like.

Though, I will say that you would be better off tweeting this to CA (where he has responded to people) or atleast posting it on the Reddit where he has been known to be active on (and posting updates often).

It's more up to you to make things interesting.

Do a playthrough with no Berries (Straw/BLue/Cran) and no Star Fruit.

Do a lazy farmer (no farming) playthrough.

If you don't want it to be too easy, challenge yourself. Plant other crops besides the big money makers. Use only quality sprinklers, etc. Set your own difficulty. It's entirely up to you.

I just want to highlight these two lines, for my own amusement. Carry on.

Seems like some hardcore gamers already use their pc for chastity :steammocking:

Tyrian, what the hell is wrong with you? It's not like the OP asked the game to become more difficult for EVERYONE (in opposite to the crybabies that made the developer take out the last few things that could actually have been considered to be a challenge).

The OP just asked for some difficulty levels. That's OPTIONAL. Nobody forces you to play games on a harder difficulty. Some people just like to be challenged, because then it feels more rewarding to have success. If you personally don't like that - fine, just carry on with your life and get out of here.

That being said, I'd second the idea, but I know it's never gonna happen. We'll have to wait for decent mods that add more realism and thus more difficulty.

If you think the game is easy, then start a new save and challenge yourself a little more. As others have pointed out, the game itself was meant to be played at any pace. For a challnege, maybe try maxing your friendship with all villagers, catch every fish, fill your entire household (ie: spouse and children), completing the community center bundles, and upgrading all tools to irridium, all by the end of the second year. Or maybe you could try something shorter, such as making a set amount of money (like one million) by the end of your first fall. There's plenty to do in SDV, you just have to be creative enough to set goals for yourself.
