Sam doesn't want you looking into his garbage bin. And when you do while he's out of his house, it's remarkably clean.

The Wizard meantions in his dialogue that he was married to a witch wich terrorizes now villages by cursing the people. He is referring to the witch that sometimes flys over you farm to curse your barns.
