What's your angle...?

I'll clue you in, do the community centre foraging acheivement for winter and you'll work it out. Its possible to get 100s of seeds growing in winter normally on your feilds regarless of the snow

You mean the winter seeds...?

yeah, I think he means Winter Seeds. However, the items you get from Winter Seeds aren't worth specifically going for. I do plant the Winter Seeds I get as reward, but I don't put ♥♥♥♥ in a seed maker or craft any seeds.

They're worth good money, and the seeds are free. Why not, then?

Hm, it just occurred to me that you could plant Winter Seeds down a week or so before Spring rolls round. That way the 1st of Spring isn't a huge rush to clear out, till, plant and water your crop areas.

The seeds you get from the Community Center are free, however they're finished growing like after 4 days. I do plant the Winter Seeds, but I don't think you should actively try to get more beyond the reward.

Four of the fruits you harvest grow make 10 wild seeds through crafting, which requires 0 effort. So the moment you're done harvesting the crop, you simply craft enough seeds to replant it all. Rinse and repeat three times through the winter. The profits from the crops you have left after the crafting are quite nice, even if they don't rival the "ultimate crops" from other seasons.

That's also true. On the 1st of Spring your fields just need to be scythed to clear the dead winter plants, and you can start planting Spring crops straight away.

crafting uses materials, materials you could be using elsewhere.

The materials required to create winter seeds, which are used to grow winter fruits, are the fruits themselves. It's a self-sustaining cycle.
So if, by your logic, winter fruits could be used for something (and they can't, really, but let's go with your logic), then what you need is more winter fruits. How do you get more winter fruits? By growing them out of winter seeds. How do you get winter seeds? By crafting them from winter fruits.
And since 4 fruits make 10 seeds, you will quickly end up with either more seeds than you could possibly need, or a large profit off the winter fruits you didn't use up for the seeds.

Nothing huge like the berries from the other seasons but still better that than the other activities you can do during the winter.

Technically, your not farming, your foraging.

They are forages. They give no farming XP whatsoever, only Foraging XP.

But the winter Forages do sell really well.
You can also use the winter roots you hoe up on the beach with the Seed Maker to get even more seeds
