When did you get a kitchen?
Just curious. I'm starting my first summer (not my first playthrough) and I "can" afford the kitchen, but I'm going to spend all the money on tools and seeds instead.

So just wondering, when did you guys prioritise the kitchen? ASAP, to get easy energy with stuff like sashimi? Or pretty late, after you've built your barns?

When you upgrade your house from lv 1 which you start with to lv 2 you have a bed room, kitchen and main room. I got my house upgraded after getting one coup and one barn built (plus as many {hay tower things} for the animals i had {2 i think}) and that was pritty early for me early year 2 late year one. the 2nd grade house is needed for cooking and a spouse. at winter year 1 i did a lot of fishing and used that in my year 2 for energy. :espresso:

I upgraded my house asap because I didn't like how small it was. I never actually got into cooking, it was always too much trouble.

Around year 1's fall or winter, I think.

upgrade watercan, pick, axe x2, silo, coop, then house upgrade mid summer
pretty sure that was the path.

Currently in Fall on my first playthrough, and I should be able to afford it money wise soon, again because damn the seed prices, half of my sprinkler farms are filled with cranberries atm and I lost 17k buying those seeds... So i'm broke...

but the only reason why I don't have it yet is because 450 wood is just insane for me. I guess a copper Axe isn't good enough, because I can get around 100-150 wood wasting all my energy... Buying a steel axe soon :)

I upgraded sometime in mid year one so that I would be ready for Abigail to marry me at the beginning of year 2. I didn't build my barn/coop until fall year one (animals are a lot of work and don't get you that much money) and would have held off longer if I wasn't trying to complete the bundles.

I waited until about fall or winter to upgrade on my first playthrough. I felt that those resources were better spent elsewhere. And I still stand by that descision.

in the summer you can hit the bath house to refill the energy, but that takes valuable time and cooking can cut that time down. getting the sushi (?) recipe is fairly easy as you walk past the homeless dude everytime you hit the mine. I just gave him whatever forage food I found on the way there and got it pretty quick.

I bought it because I wanted to explore the game's content as in-depth as I possibly can and that includes cooking as well.
