Getting strawberry seeds?

I wish the wiki had been clearer that you should NOT start the egg hunt at the Egg Festival until you've bought your strawberry seeds. I hadn't bought them yet (couldn't really figure out where to buy them during the festival -- at Pierre's??), and when the mayor asked if I wanted to start the egg hunt, I said yes.

As soon as it was over, so was the festival.

So, do I really have to wait till NEXT SPRING to get those seeds? I do have the greenhouse and a seed maker, so if I could get a strawberry itself I could manufacture the seeds. The wiki does not make getting a strawberry very promising.

Yes, you have to wait until next spring, unless you get a strawberry seed or strawberry from the travelling merchant and grow it in the greenhouse. During the festival, you buy the seeds at Pierre's market stall thing near the entrance. If you had quit before the day saved, you could have done the day over again and gotten your seeds.

There is a Seed Maker http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Seed_Maker

If you have a Seed Maker, and you get lucky, you might be able to get a strawberry from the Traveling Vendor (Fridays and Sundays), and make some seeds. I'd wait for a good luck day though (for a better chance of multiple seeds from a single fruit).

I bought a lot of seeds the second year, but by the time the third year rolled around, I had made a lot more with a Seed Maker.

I faithfully visit the traveling cart on Fridays and Sundays and have gotten some lucky deals there. I'll keep my fingers crossed... or will just have to wait till (sigh) next spring.
