And marriage rivalry is lame imo. I mean, if all other candidates are your boyfriends and girlfriends, or just friends in general, why would they all of a sudden become rivals? It wouldn't make sense.
I like the fact that you can romance all of them and even when married, it gives a lot of freedom to the player and I really like that.
Also, I married Alex. He's such a sweet ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
And there are those who want to experience the other candidates' heart events (including the 10 heart one) even when married, and the marriage rivalry mechanic would ruin their freedom of doing so.
If this ever gets implemented though, they should make it so that the player can choose whether or not they want marriage rivalry, that way everyone would be happy
It's a neat idea, but it shouldn't be forced on those who don't want it.
I've been in the process of raisinging everyone's heart level, and the marriage candidates have stopped at 6.
I married Alex too.
I get what everyone is saying, but I do wish there was a little more progress with the villagers. A few times I'll see marriage candidates with, what looks to be their crush, and I wonder how their story could have progressed if they got married after I picked my partner. It would also be cool to see progress with villagers who aren't a part of the marriage section, such as Clint and Emily.
Regardless, it's a great game. I've enjoyed it a lot more than Harvest Moon, and from what I can tell, Harvest Moon's production team and such seems to be a lot bigger.
It is DEFINITELY possible to romance everyone all the way up to 10 hearts when married.
Thanks for sharing that. What an interesting addition to the game.
Although I feel slightly bad, since Alex would always ask if he had to worry about other candidates because I was giving them gifts, aha. ^.-
