Interior Decorating
Was wondering if anyone would like to share screenshots of their house. I'm finding it hard to decorate the inside without having things in the way, and wanted to see what other people did for inspiration.

Dont mind the mess, i had to buy furniture first and i still need to organise and throw away some stuff... But im proud of the living room, kitchen (i will take most of the plants away), and the little tea room i did in my bed room

P.S. I dont have ideas for the room before the children one so i ended stocking useless furniture there (you may notice my kids stuck inside lol)

Dang dude that's pretty nice. Also rip I love all the plants, they're pretty much the only decorations in my house aside from pictures and stuff you get from villagers/the museum.

I had to get all the plants so i could decide which one was the best for my house, thats why i have so many, same goes for the pile of furniture near the children room ;p

In most cases I would say just stick to the walls. The pathing I see tends to go through the middle of the house, and the spouse needs to be able to spawn in the kitchen, too.

I guess I lucked out. This was what I did naturally, and I have never had any problems with my spouse complaining. It's more functional than anything else: tv/calendar next to the bed so I can immediately get it, rooms dedicated to storage/equipment/trophies. Paintings to help me remember which chest has what.

The heater probably isn't necessary to make the spouse happy, but if you know Leah then you know she said her cabin/cottage got cold. I was tempted to try gifting her one, but something in the game gave me a free one after I already bought what I needed for animals. I like having it in the house just because I would want to be warm, too.

Also, I like having lights so I can see better when I come home late. They don't cover the biggest area, so you might be limited in which ones really look good indoors.

I don't have any problems with the living room, there is 2 paths one can chose to get to the kitchen.
One is between the TV and the lamp and the other between the TV and armchair, i see my wife walking around the furniture without problems. ;p

For all I know the pathing I see occurs because the perimeter tiles are occupied. But since most people complain that the spouse gets unhappy with the house, then don't ever share screenshots of the offending house - it leaves us speculating what's wrong.

How can we know what's wrong. What if there's an actual object count, and cap? Or a free tile count? There are many possibilities, however unlikely or counterintuitive.

I never seen Haley complain about design and we have been married for 1 year and 1 season. She only changed the flooring of the living room once for whatever reason.

You have a microwave and a spice rack and more space on your kitchen wall? Is this a mod? Or does wallpaper change more than just the wall?

It's just a kitchen re-colour.

What's most annoying about designing your house is not knowing all the available options. I recommend using the Wiki to see all the furniture/flooring/wallpaper and just keep visiting Robin/Pierre until what you want is on sale. And always buy extras in case your spouse is a ♥♥♥♥ and changes stuff on you.

As for my house, any opportunity to show it off: http://i.imgur.com/nk6KV3d.jpg

I am still waiting on the Puzzle Table for the kids room.

On one game, I married Sebastian, and our bedroom was very relaxed... We had a small TV next to the bed, and a bedside table with undies (the Mayor's, but I'm pretending they're Sebby's <333 ) Bedroom also had a desk with a skull on it I think. The kitchen had the mutated carp from the sewers. Living room had maroon carpet and walls, with a comfy black/red sofa and a desk with something Sebby liked on it... Onyx or obsidian or something. The "hall" is Halloween themed. I THINK it's a "haunted forest" wallpaper. It's got a long red table with 5 "people" behind it. The witch rarecrow, the skeleton figure from... the Museum? The dwarf rarecrow, and 2 of the "secret" figurine things. The things you get by using a strange bun, purple cucumber and whatever else on the boxes around town.

On my second game, I did a theme for each room. The bedroom has a campfire and stepping stones and dirt everywhere else, plus a few potted plants, and a stone table. The... hall? has lots of plants, a "landscape" wallpaper with trees on it, grassy flooring (or leaves? I forget). Lots of plants, the star/crystal geode thing from the Museum guy, the bear statue from the Museum...
