all he'd have to do is have E be yes, X be no on that. Right click, press E. But I'm talking about the events. Things you'll have to alt+f4 and re-do the day if you make a mistake like I just did with the luau.
A Hot Pepper. With relationship decay(why?) I can't let even a neutral one slide.
Cue resetting the day.
Adding additional menus to gifting or the shops would make it feel more cumbersome, having to rely on my keyboard instead of my right-click to use healing items would mean having to move your hand over the numpad and then back to E (or try to get really, really precise with the scrollwheel in shorter bursts); then again, you can also click the items in your hotbar to select them and then right click.
I'd definitely choose a different button for the confirmation though, as E is already defaultly assigned to the inventory screen- and with a game like this, with simple controls, you also wouldn't want to have that button be too far away from the main cluster (wasd movement) or in an awkward placement (z,x, c, and q are generally harder to reach in a smooth motion when your fingers are already resting on/using the movement keys- and your other hand is on the mouse).
Of course, my fingers are unnaturally long, so maybe that bit of keyboard clunkiness is more of a personal problem on my end. It's difficult to move down a row without jamming the other buttons unless I lift my entire hand. Q is the easiest button of the cluster to get to by arching my middle finger and... well, lifting the rest of my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hand.
EDIT: As for the controls, yes, they're kind of bad. This game is begging for real gamepad controls and support.
One of my big beefs is how if your pointer is near your character when you click, you'll use the tool where you're pointing. But if it's just a little bit away, you'll use it whatever direction you're facing at the time. This makes combat especially rough, at times.
And, yes, confirmation on gifts might be ok. One time I was just trying to talk to Sam near a garbage can and was just rapid-clicking through and I accidentally grabbed soggy newspaper out of his garbage and gifted it to him.
Still, that can be fixed by just being careful.
