[Request] Better gamepad controls
Hi I just started playing this game!
And really is quite fantastic!

Still the gamepad could definitely use some improvements.
Several commands are redundant.
Here are some ideas:

Dpad - Hotkeys / Menu navigation
In Game for Switch Items
Menu to scroll and navigation

For hotkeys I think we could use the triggers as modifiers for a dpad hotkey system.
Like this:
▲ + Right Trigger - 1
► + Right Trigger - 2
▼ + Right Trigger - 3
◄ + Right Trigger - 4
▲ + Left Trigger - 5
► + Left Trigger - 6
▼ + Left Trigger - 7
◄ + Left Trigger - 8

Menu access hotkeys:
Start / B / Y / Right Shoulder and Left shoulder - Menu hotkeys
Start - Map (Right now it opens backpack same as B button)
Y - Open Crafting Menu (Already woks like this)
B - Backpack (Already woks like this)
Right Shoulder - Skills
Left shoulder - Social

If anyone have other ideas I can update the main post with them.
Just as long they are intuitive and make sense.
Since the game is moving to consoles it really need a better gamepad implementation.

Cheers!

Try the program Joy to Key. It helps map controller input to keyboard keys. Once you start it up just start mapping and binding keys together for more complex applications.

Does anyone know how to keybind menu/dialogue navigation onto a controller? I always have to use the mouse to move the cursor around and would love to be able to do everything with my controller. I use an afterglow ps3 controller and xpadder to keybind to it, thanks.
