I already have five ancient seeds too, my first two dropped on the same day in early fall. (the first fall, I've only actually played one haha.)
why haven't you unlock the desert at that point? i unlock it in the first fall.
People prioritize their money in different ways. I know I didn't get the desert until Spring Year 2. Spent my money on upgrading all of my barns/coops, house, etc.
I'm slow as crap at harvest moon (and similar!) games. Always have been. I save EVERYTHING out of some thought that I might possibly need it later. So the first 5 of every kind of crop, 5 of each mineral, 5 of everything. So that cuts into my profit lots. Plus I'm a completionist. I have to fully clear out each mine level before I take the stairs down. I did stop doing that since I wanted to get the mine carts working so I went down quickly just to find a fire Quartz, but now that I found the darn thing I am back to go slowly -- and I even went back to fully complete each floor I sped through. I haven't even finished the mine yet, I am on floor 85 I think.
So I'm slow c: but that is why I like these games, I can be as slow as I want! No one cares. Well, no one but grandpa probably, but he can stuff it.
Lol I haven't even done that. My coop is a big coop, yes, but I haven't upgraded my house at all and I don't even have a barn. I'm just super slow at these games. But that is fine by me c:
wow 5 of each? i was planting like 20 + 40 crops of each. that give me a good profit. of course i upgrade the watering can as fast i could to steel. on rainy full mining. i did fishing just for the bundle.
If you have the spare cash lying around (later years more than likely) you can go to Sandy's Oasis in the desert on Wednesdays and buy omni-geodes for 1000g a pop. Then it's just a matter of waiting for a Very Lucky day and opening them. Last time I did that (mined the geodes, not bought them.) I had about ~50 or so omnigeodes saved up. I got three prismatic shards and somewhere around 20-30 iridium ores.
Hahaha, I love it. I play the same way. I started a new game, my first game, when I bought the game. I wasn't too sure of what I was doing, did pretty well after all, did all achievements, sold lots of things, made mistakes, lost items, etc. But I got the achievements. Went throught year 6.
I started a 2nd game, went the Joja route, played fast, didnt care about collecting stuff, bought the whole Joja, and finished game at summer year 2.
Now, third and real game. Now that I'm mastering the game, the goal was: NEVER SPENT ANY GOLD. I live off what I find in fishing, mining, foraging, etc. All items with gold star I keep, all silver stars and no stars are for sale. I now have so many chests, with all items I can find, I'm hoarding everything, taking my time.
I haven't even spoken to anyone after a year, level 40 in mines, nothing unlocked. The goal was: let's fish and forage everywhere, for an entire year. Spend as little gold as you can. I haven't bought anything from any merchant. I live off mixed seeds and gifts I receive. I managed to level up to 10 in fishing, 8 in foraging, 3 in farming, and 6 in mining, just by doing fishing and foraging, and with basic tools. I think year 2 will be the bottom of mines, lots of fishing (for treasure chests) and starting maybe to build some farm buildings.
I'm even thinking of getting all rewards from community center, not complete the one that gives friendship, and then buy the Joja right there at the end. That way I can keep the community center rewards and I get the soda machine. I hope it will work out.
