I lost my goat?

...I guess the game has got my goat.

Ok, seriously. It's the first day of spring, so I let all my animals out as usual. Shut the barn door at night, although I didn't check to make sure all the animals are inside. Second day, I get up and enter the barn, and there is no goat. Two cows, but no goat.

Do goats not go back into the barn at night? Should I build a fence or something to keep my animals in one place?
