How to take out stored Hay?
I have a Deluxe Barn and Coop, so the auto-feeder is doing its job.
The problem is that I want to take Hay out of the hopper so that I can store it in a chest.
Is there a way to take Hay out of the Silo without having to build another Coop?

Getting new Hay is not the issue. Storing it is.
All of my unused land is covered with grass.
If I were to cut it all, I'd probably waste >1,000 units of Hay because my Silos are too full.
I don't want to build more silos to hold it all. I want to remove the Hay I already have and put it into a chest.

Click on it? I'm pretty sure that works.

I'm pretty sure that clicking on the Silo just tells you how much Hay you have.
Clicking on the auto-feeder doesn't do anything for me.

Have you tried clicking on the chest filled with hay? (The one in the barn/coop)

By this, I mean I used to be able to grab Hay from the feeder until I upgraded to deluxe.

Huh, weird.
''Hay can then be gathered from hoppers inside barns and coops and placed in the feeding bins nearby. ''
Quoted from the wiki. I don't know why it doesn't work for you, sorry.

I have not heard of any way to get hay from the silo, after you have upgeaded the coop and barn. I just built a 2nt small coop for this reason. It makes a good storage shed.

If you have the deluxe barn/coop, chances are that just buying it from Marnie wouldn't be an issue
You used to be able to grab the food when the feeders were empty - but i too have deluxe barns now and cant get the hay out. I instead built two new silos (had two originally, and i have 3 barns and 3 coops atm) to deal with the winter season and hold more hay.

Silos are cheap and seem like the best option to store more hay. If you need more hay for something other than feeding the animals in your barns, best to buy it from Marnie.

Maybe I was being too vague. Getting new Hay is not the issue. Storing it is.

Yeah, people seemed to not understand what you are trying to say. And no, once it's stored in the silo, you can't take it out. And yes, if you cut grass while your silos are full, you will lose that grass. The only way to get hay in your personal inventory is to buy it from Marnie. Hope it helps.

I only recently started playing this game so im a very late. But for anyone who has the Deluxe Barn and Coop and having this issue this was the way i did it. (i found by accident) simply leave the barn door open on one of the coops/barns overnight. I cant say for sure if there are reprocussions for this, i have done it several times and had no issues, productivity stayed normal etc although it was rumoured that wasnt the case everytime. But if your desperate i suggest doing that. Just grab out all the hay you want before filling the remaining spaces on the foodrack.

Do not leave the doors open over night. There's a chance you'll get attacked by wolves, lose an animal and the rest would be too stressed out to produce the next day.

Not only is this a necro but it's also incorrect. Animals only get mauled if they're locked out over night, as in they're stuck outside when you close the barn door. I leave the door open every day from spring 1 to fall 28 and no attacks occur.

And their information is useless as the OP has a Deluxe barn and coop, which auto-feeds. You can't remove hay from the hopper at all in a Deluxe barn/coop.
