stardew valley extended - bear

I've completed most things in extended. I know where the bear cave is. but I never see the bear there. I've restored aurora vineyard. I'm keeping maple syrup in my bag in case that will help, but I thought I gave teh bear maple before I even went to aurora. But my problem is that I haven't triggered teh bear to give me recipes or have his shop.

you meet the bear for the first time in the secret woods. Are you sure you gave him the maple syrup.

I'm pretty sure that I gave him the maple syrup in the secret woods before I went to aurora, but that was a couple game years ago. Looking online it looks like I should be able to find him in his store at the bear cave if I gave him the syrup so I'm puzzled. I know that I definately gave him the foods that he wanted as he sat near the steps that lead to the locked sewer door.

The bear near the locked sewer is a different bear. I would suggest taking some maple syrup to the Secret Woods and see if that triggers the cut scene or not.

1. the bear only appears after you find secret note 23. check your notes to verify you have note 23.
2. then go to secret woods between 6am and 7pm. with maple syrup in your tool bar.
3, if you have met him already, you should have bears knowledge in your wallet.
4. the sell price of blackberry's will also increase from 20g to 60g.

hmm I have bears knowlege in my wallet. I'm trying to puzzle this out so that I can get the last 2 recipes that I don't have which are sold in the bear shop.

the recipes are from the Trash bear, not the Maple syrup bear.
the Trash bear only appears beginning in year 3 in forest down by the onion patch. You need to give him some random food item that he requests 4 times. He appears only on non-rainy days. Then he flies off and you later find him in town, in Pam's yard and in the Dog pen.

I think I've hit a bug preventing me from getting the shop and my last 2 recipes. I've done the trash bear and maple syrup bear stuff, tried in fall, winter, and spring in rain and shine. Have gone into every building in the hopes of it being a missing scene. have full hearts with everyone except Scarlett.

as I said above, you need to find the trash bear in Pam's front yard, after the trash has been removed, and then in Dusty the dog's pen after it has been upgraded.
Have you built Pam a house or upgraded the dogs pen?

As for the bear's store in the woods, he doesn't sell much so dont worry about it.

well he sells the recipes that I'm missing for completion. I have built Pam's house. trash is removed from her house. not sure if the dog's pen is upgraded. but have gone to both locations several times not finding the bear there.

I have read that you also need to deliver maple syrup to the entrance to the bear's shop in order to unlock his shop.

Players can find Bear's cave in the far northwest of Forest West, beyond the abandoned Aurora Vineyard. Before they go to find it, players will first need to gather some Maple Syrup by using a Tapper on a Maple Tree. Players can deliver the Maple Syrup to Bear's cave at any time after they find Secret Note #23, and doing so will unlock Bear's shop.

yeah, I'm assuming that I've delivered the maple syrup because I brought it there and tried to deliver again and it didn't let me do so.

I was just at the bear's shop, and all was good for me. Do you maybe have a mod that is interferring with the bear shop?
you are making your way to the bear shop?? One of the passage ways there gets cluttered with forage items some times, I need to clear the path with axe and scythe

I just have expanded mod and the required for that mods. yeah, I scythe till I get to the opening and can't go further, looks like the right cave spot from other videos. I'll keep going back there and keep maple on me while I finish creating all the crafted items and fully friending everyone and then I'll probably give up and restart the game with more expansions or test whether my comptuer can handle expanded and riverside lol
