Can tea saplings be planted right next to each other? Or do they behave like trees?

tea saplings can be planted right next to each other without any problems.

Word of warning though you cannot walk through them so make sure to leave walking room for youself as well a path past them.

You can use Tea saplings as makeshift (more expensive but never degrading) fences, no trouble planting them next to one another. You still need to have 2 pieces of fence to put a gate up (so leave 3 spaces for gates).
