Free game for PC since i already have it for Nintendo? / Possibile ottenerlo per pc se ce l'ho già per Nintendo Switch?
Volevo chiedere se fosse possibile ottenere questo gioco per PC gratuitamente dal momento che ce l'ho già per Nintendo Switch (?)

I wanted to ask if it was possible to get this PC game for free since I already have it for Nintendo Switch (?)

Why would it be free for pc if you own it for console? Sorry dear, but you will have to buy it for pc if you want it for pc. Put it on your wishlist and you can easily keep track of when it is on sale :>

Video game licenses are almost always platform specific.

I can understand having to buy it a second time for PC even if you bought it on another platform. If this was a case of, say, having to buy it again on PS5 despite already having bought it on PS4, I could see why someone would be outraged by this.

Well, I dunno about specific manufacturer's generations of hardware. I think Sony tries to maintain backwards compatibility for at least a generation (meaning you can play PS3 titles on a PS4, and PS4 titles on a PS5, etc). However that's just an assumption on my part, I could be wrong.

But if you're going from the Switch, to the Xbox, to the PS4 (or 5 if you can find one) or to the PC, then you're very likely to need a new license. There are probably exceptions, but most games, yeah, you gotta buy it again if you want it on another platform.

As a single example: Destiny 2 has cross-platform compatibility for Xbox, PlayStation, PC, Stadia. You can enable cross-save and play your existing account across any of those platforms, the base game and your account data carry across. But specific DLCs do not. If I own Witch Queen on the PC, I do NOT own Xbox, PlayStation, or Stadia version of that DLC.

So far i've only seen it once, that the devs gave out steam keys after you've bought it on their website first in like 15 years now (was both PC though).

Well that didn't really answer the question why it would be free on PC just becasue you own it for Switch. If you want another license for a different platform, you either pay for it or receive it as a gift. And that's the end of the discussion. :brownchicken:

This thread was quite old before the recent posts, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
