Need help Downloading Skull Cavern Elevator Mod

I need some help! I have been trying to get the elevator mod for the skull caverns, but SMAPI isnt working. It keeps saying i need the current version of the game, even though I do have the current version of the game, so did I do something wrong? I appreciate any help here!

Are you using the legacy/compatibility version of the game. The 34bit version?

you also need to have a 64bit version, and the capability on your pc for 64-bit, as well as current SMAPI.
Did you run the game with SMAPI at least once before installing the elevator??

So, I do not know if I am using the compatibility mode. How do I find out? Is it in steam or the game itself? And how do I find the bit compatibility? This is the first mod I've installed, so I am really new and confused on the process

If you haven't changed anything then Steam should have automatically downloaded the 64x version of the game for you. We just didn't knew if you were a compatibility user. The compatibility version exists so that 32x machine users can still play.

First, verify your game files

Let it do it's thing and wait for it to finish.

Secondly, please check if you really have the correct SMAPI file. Download it from the official site:
https://smapi.io/

You may have a Stardew valley backup folder lying around on your drives and SMAPI is detecting it as your SDV install. Delete the backup or put it on an extern drive that you can remove.

Good! Installing mods is pretty straightforward.

Always read the install instructions and make sure that you installed the dependency mods/framework mods if a mod requires it. Delete old mod version folders when updating to a new mod version if asked. Most of the time you can just let the new mod version overwrite the old mod folder.
