A gate lasts for 400 days
Wooden fence lasts for 54-58 days
Hardwood fence lasts for 558-562 days
Iron fence lasts for 248-252 days
Stone fence lasts for 118-122 days
Hardwood lasts longer than Iron? Interesting. It helps in organizing my farm.
Hardwood takes quite long to farm, especially back in the days, where the mohagony tree wasn't a thing. Iron on the other hand is more or less buyable, but since it is used in many other recipes, it's better gameplaywise to make something else lasting longer, which doesn't really have that many recipes.
This is a little confusing, what exactly do you mean by "advancing wilderness" and the "spread"? Are you simply talking about fiber/rocks/stumps appearing on the farm? I never noticed those destroying any of my fences or rods, but maybe I just gotten lucky so far...
no, the fences are made to prevent the ''advancing wilderness'' (the weeds, logs and stones appearing on the farm) from damaging your crops.
The wiki dosen't say anything about fences other then their decay time and i remember hearing in some youtube video that fences don't get destroyed by the ''spreading wilderness''. (also the only reason a fence ever got destroyed on my 6 year farm is beacuse of the decay time) So yeah i'm trusting my gut instead of the brony and i think you should too, OP.
