Cannot start the fix Willy’s boat

I finished the community center and should have gotten the letter from Willy to start the quest to fix the boat, but it either never arrived or I am still missing some prerequisite. Any ideas? Also, if I do have it active, how can I tell and how do I get the materials to Willy?

you need a certain number of hearts with Willy as well. , and it takes a few days.

Try going through the door at the back of willy's shop. That'll tell you.

There is no door, at least I don’t see it, just the ladder he won’t let me up

you cant go thru the door behind Willy until he invites you by mail.

After completing three Community Center Bundles, entering the Fish Shop will trigger a cutscene, Willy doesn't need to be there and weather doesn't matter. In the cutscene he will chat with the player about how they're doing on fishing, and finally hint on the fact that if the Community Center gets restored, he will show them "something".
Willy's Boat is then introduced when Willy mails the player an invitation to come to the back room of his shop. The invitation arrives two days after either all bundles for the Community Center have been donated

Upon arriving at the back room, the player finds a hidden dock with an old boat that is out of service. Willy can use the boat to provide transport to and from Ginger Island at a ticket price of Gold.png1,000g, but he does not have the materials needed for repairs.

Oh, I forgot to add, I am playing on my iPad, game version is thE current version 1.4.5.153…

Well that explains it. The 1.5 version of the game which includes this particular quest is not available for mobile at the moment but it will hopefully be released before the end of this year. Until then, you will have to simply wait until it comes out.

I havent gotten that mail yet and I play on pc, and it said 3 community bundles so something is clearly wrong for me.

You need to complete the whole community centre to unlock it and then it is just about repairing 3 things at the boat.

Which guide mentions that? You will get the letter from Willy two days after all of the Community Center bundles have been completed OR when the Joja Community Development Form has been completed. It depends on which route you took.

The boat will require three specific items in order to be fully restored. Not bundles, items :>

3 bundles then enter the fish shop and it will trigger, so clearly thats wrong.
