Sleep to Save?

Do I have to go to sleep to save the game, or is it possible to save and then come back where you left off without starting the day over again...?

That is correct, the game only saves when you go to sleep (and do the daily summary activity).

A game day takes about 15 minutes of real time. Plan accordingly.

If you need more frequent saving than once per day you will need to look at mods.

I know that you can pause (bring up menu/inventory) the game and put the computer into 'sleep' mode and come back to it later if you need. Only works if you are the only one doing anything on said computer though.

Otherwise, yes. It only saves when you sleep. However, you can sleep at any time to end the day and save it that way.

Yes, you can pause by opening menu, and sleep pc or do something else for a while. I fall asleep (irl) mid-day in game all the time. Did it just today, had 4 hour nap, then a shower. Game was right where I left it.
