I guess what some of ya'll are saying is that people who were once alcoholics should never be married to anyone and be doomed to living a life of isolation and stigma. Shane, the village pariah.

As for Shane being messy, I don't really care because all of the men I've ever been with don't know how to clean up after themselves. I think that's pretty average, but hey if you got yourself a dude who will pickup after themselves or even just take on the role of housekeeper, Id say you found yourself a unicorn. At least he keeps it contained in his 'room', which is really more than I expect.

So yeah, I don't care if Shane still drinks as long as he keeps it under control, and he does, so its whatever. I don't give him alcohol, even though I make loads of wine. I never find him passed out in his corner of the room with a mountain of my homemade wine bottles surrounding him either, so I think he's going to be ok (I wont have to murder him for lost profit).

I was thinking about choosing Shane because he lives on the ranch with animals, so I thought that he would help with caring for them. Then I saw all the negative videos, which kind of swayed my thoughts.
So for those that have already chosen Shane, does he help with the animals on the farm.

He does what the other spouses do, feed and water occasionally but if you want words of affection, he's not for you.

Agreed, I dislike him so much that when I needed a strange bun for the trash bear rather than befriending him, I grinded to get the 'Danger In The Deep' Qi Challenge so I could kill the dangerous enemies that have a chance to drop strange buns instead.

Most of the marriage candidates are downright hostile and screwed up in various ways until you befriend them and see all of their scenes. Shane cleans himself up pretty good by the end of his line. I remember when I first played this game I didn't like any of the NPCs because most were arsewipes to me. xD
