Galaxy weapon question

i just got the galaxy sword and i was wondering if the hammer or dagger are better then the galaxy sword?
im trying to save for that return rod thingy but am interested in the other galaxy weapons

It's not so much a case of "better" as "better suited to you". The sword is more flexible (wide area attack + blocking), the dagger is great for some enemies but not others, and the hammer is great if you can time it and as long as you don't get swarmed/stuck... but if you do, you'll take a few hits before you can use the slam attack to get out of there.

They're expensive options, so if you're saving up for the return rod you need to weigh the use of each choice. Before you had the Galaxy Sword, what kind of weapon/s did you prefer? Were you using the Lava Katana for pure damage, or maybe one of the faster swords? The return rod may allow you to get out of fights you don't want to be in; or at least give you the chance to dash home and return with more supplies in cases where you're forced to abandon a run.

Also factor in that the other Galaxy weapons may help you to gain more Irridium, if that's something you're trying to get hold of -- again, it depends on your combat style. If you're more a sword person anyway, having the other weapons won't make much difference; but if you prefer one of the other attack styles then, well, you'll need every advantage you can get in the Skull Caves.

Remember that the slingshot exists, though; and it can be pretty great when used correctly. Explosive Ammo makes short work of groups and mummies; and if you have plenty of Irridium ore (such as if you've got hold of a certain purple statue) then using the Irridium ore as ammo allows you to 2-3 hit enemies at the edge of the screen... or to take one shot with the slingshot, drawing them into range of a finishing blow from the sword.

i see....ty for the information if thats the case im just gonna stick with the galaxy sword was using the lava katana (purely for the fact it did the highest damage mostly)

and tbh im just getting the return rod now because it's there, tbh the whole point was getting it so i can stay in the skull caves longer to hunt for the shard to get the galaxy sword haha.
