edit: I thought post was about artifacts in general
Also why would guiides be "scamming you" they have nothing to gain from that if its a scam
and i didnt think you could find those specific ones in geodes are you sure you found them in geodes? and if so which geode?
Oh my bad. I must've skimmed right over the specific artifacts. I thought it was about artifacts in general
The drop a given worm spot is set at the start of the day and won't change if you reload.
However, if you don't dig the worm spot up, it will be given a new spot the next day.
So if you are willing to save scum, you can start each day digging up all the worm spots, and if you don't get anything you can reset and play your day as normal. that way you do not have to wait for new worm spots to spawn.
There is a 'maximum' of two worm spots in each area, except for winter when there can be up to 5 worm spots per area. That is it won't try to spawn any more worms once that number is met, though a few rare occasioans can spawn above that number the day befre.
Yea actually with experimenting i have come accross most of this information and i have been a save scum lately the past 10 or so days actually doing as you suggested. Still havent found anything but its good to know others use this method and it doesnt some how unbalance the tables.
The one question i was kind of curious about is are the spots set to give you artifact X at beginning of the day or when you actually dig them up? I wonder tihs becuase if its at the beginning of the day any food that gives you luck would have no change but if its when you actually dig the spot then the luck can help.
I have been doing the save trick anyways so its not like i am losing the luck food item (lucky lunch) either way but was more so just curious
Also I bleieve Luck affects your rate to find a treassure chest, but not what will be inside them.
(Incidently the rewards from Geo's, and the results of the slot machin in the casino are also set at the start of the day. I think geo breaking was the type of Geo you are break + the number of any geo you broke that day.)
One of the bone fossils was the last artifact I got as well. I wasn't enjoying the save scumming but finally got it and enjoying the game a lot more now that I can stop worrying about it. All collection tabs complete!
good to know about the geodes and slot machine i didnt know that
btw any chance you know if i can get any of those four bones from the geodes or just worms?
As far as I know, the 6 bones that are part of the fossile can only be found in work dig spots.
- Resetting the day does not give different rewards from the same worms, but NOT DIGGING them and trying the next day will actually give something else.
- When you go to sleep, for each area, it will do the following steps:
1) Each worm has 15% chance to disappear.
2) If there are less than 2 worms (less than 5 in winter) it will try to spawn 2 extra worms (5 in winter). If they "spawn" on a place where they can't, they juts don't appear and you have no worm. Too bad, be sad.
3) This means that winter has the most worms because there are "more spawn attempts" AND "a higher chance of succes per spawn attempt" because it can spawn anywhere on snow (other seasons only on dirt).
- Which means, the best way, is to dig up all the worms so you know what is under all of them, and then reset the day and ONLY dig the ones that are useful (usually, none of them). This way, the worms that are already there will have a 85% chance to still be there the next day. If you dig them up they have to respawn and the chance of success is not very high.
- In winter, if there are like 5 or 6 worms, try to dig up a few so there are 4 left .Then it will try to spawn 5 extra ones, which will probably result in a total of 7-8 worms, since there is a lot of snow.
- Personally, I skipped spring/summer/fall by sleeping and did a second winter, just to get the last few worms. In real time, this is the fastest way if you don't mind skipping a year just to search for artifacts.
- Of course, you still need to be lucky. This only increases your amount of chances. If RNG ♥♥♥♥♥ you up you're still boned.
