Seed Catalogue
Howdy folks.

I've got a suggestion to make in regards to the future of Stardew Valley. With 1.1, we saw the addition of the Furniture Catalogue and standard Catalogue from Robin's and Pierre's, respectively. And that's awesome that we can now have a chance to get ANY Furniture or Flooring/Wallpaper we want once we get those items. But how's about a Seed Catalogue too to get any standard seed whenever we so choose, even if it's not the appropriate season to grow them? I mean, once we have the Greenhouse, we can grow anything whenever, so why shouldn't we be able to truly tap into the full potential of the Greenhouse whenever we so choose? Hell, Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, which ConcernedApe himself has stated to be the best Harvest Moon there was and that future titles just kept going downhill, allowing the purchase of all seeds from the store once the Greenhouse was obtained there, so why not here?

Anyhow, that's my suggestion, really. Good luck with all your farms!

You can get the Greenhouse done by Year 1; the Seed Catalogue is a surefire way to make millions without having to wait for seasons.

Would make the game too easy.

if you're on your first playthrough you won't be getting the greenhouse done by year 1, nor would the catalogue be free. really it doesn't make the game "easier" at all in regards to profit since it's just slightly less waiting, it just makes it more convenient for gifting and recipes.

Then you can have it selling only seeds that are sold in general shop.
Besides... What can be more OP than starfruit seeds of which already are sold whole year?

P.S. noone sais that you should be able to buy ancient seeds there...

Yeah, this would be really nice. Maybe make them cost a bit more, for balancing? (240g for a cranberry seed, or 260g if ordering from a catalogue? 20g becomes 25g?)

The only real use would be for cooking or gifting...

Also, I'd love if Pierre sold seeds before the season. Like, on Spring 25, he starts selling Summer seeds.

Furniture. wallpaper and flooring aren't essential to the game. They're just minor customizations that have no effect on the gameplay. Seeds are very different--they are core to the gameplay. There are too many elements of the game that a seed catalogue would ruin. The game is intentionally designed to make you manage your farm around the seasons and seed availability is a huge part of that.

How so?
You can get starfruit and grow them in your greenhouse every season. Likewise, you can stock up on seeds in advance for the greenhouse and still grow them year round.

It's not like you can plant them out in your field out of season, and the greenhouse has limited space. How would it be gamebreaking to buy blueberry seeds on Spring 26, when you can buy them 3 days later at the general store?

I just don't follow your logic.

How about a farm building, Seed Bank, that either comes with a new NPC to be the vendor, or the option to choose a villager (like Linus!) to work there.
It could be Expensive.

Or a computer to access internet seed bank site, and have a 1-2 day delivery time by mail.
