Change farm layout through save editing?
Hey!

I was wondering if it's possible to change the layout of an old game without having to restart... or if not, to transport your player with inventory into a new game with desired layout?

Yes I was thinking clear the farm before making the change, but the important thing is the chests remain ^^ or maybe plan according to the new layout so nothing is out of place!
So how'd you do it :D

At the end of your savefile there's <whichFarm>0</whichFarm> if you have the standard farm.
Change the 0 to something different.
0 Standard
1 Riverland
2 Forest
3 Hill-top
4 Wilderness

Mind that I don't know if you will get all benefits for the used layout if you change it that way.
For example you most likely won't get any structures created at the beginning of the game.

Also, as shown in Magenta's screenshot above, this does nothing to change the positional data of each modifiable object that has been placed on the map. This will very likely lead to things being out of place, or even in inaccessible places where you can't reach them.

It could also possibly break certain events (such as when an NPC shows up to deliver your pet), but I'm just speculating.

That's what the farm clear should prevent.

There should be no problems with events since key places are still the same.

So, I want to just go back to the original layout. I feel the mining layout is too cramped.

Can anyone tell me if trees, rocks, grass, etc. will affect my transition? So, if I revert to the standard farm layout, will it have all the trees, rocks, logs, etc. as if I just started a new game?

No, it will have the things you have on your current farm. The only way to have the debris is to start a new game or maybe season change but it's a lot less of them...

Thanks. I tried last night and realized my 4 Rare Seeds are growing right on top of the little pond in the original layout.

Guess I have to wait until winter to do this.

So at first I started a new forest but realized I don't really want to play through the whole game again. So I cleared my year 4 farm and then switched the save to forest. It worked except that all of the bushes and like random non-interactable plants aren't there. Any ideas?

EDIT: I figured it out. Under the game location "Farm" replace the exisisting <largeterrainfeatures></largeterrain features> with the following.

I will bump this because i wanna go to standart farm layout from hilltop. I have 3 buildings and the rest farms are not important. The above xml is for "transition to standart" or "transition to forest"?
