Will I like Stardew Valley?
Since Stardew Valley is on the Humble Monthly next month. This current months had Slime Rancher. Well i've put in nearly 2 hours and have been having a blast of this OCD simulator. The question is will I like Stardew Valley? I grew up hating Harvest Moon, I hate the whole waifu aspect, I hate long dialogue with talking to people. I just want to collect for hours and hours.

You can skip most cutscenes and you do not have to do anything as there is no lose condition. Lot's of variety in what you can do but it may get a little tedious but having a field full of crops thats worth 20000g a harvest feels really really good.

Oh yes, you will enjoy it, if you like to collect for hours and hours, you can definitely do that.

I'd recommend to watch a few videos about the game and then decide yourself.
But what you have to keep in mind is, that the game isn't only about the farming.
It's about socializing, farming, mining, fishing, foraging, fighting. But the days are limited, in time and energy. So in the beginning when you have no food to regain energy you'll have short days if you don't want to socialize.

There's no boring events right? I remember Harvest Moon having Animal Crossing lite events. Which as we all know, Animal Crossing is terrible.

You can ignore it if you want, but it is a big aspect of the game. What could be a bit annoying would be the 8 events all across the year (2 per season). Because when they are active certain parts of the map are "blocked" (before event -> being set up / during event -> event gets triggered and leaving means instant 10pm).

But as I said; watch some videos! And if you're still not sure, there's still refunds.

Well the problem is I don't really want to socialize with anyone in a farming simulator. I'd imagine they would have nothing of use to say or care. It would just be a waste of time. I'm not expecting this game to have some sort of deep plot like Deus Ex or Planescape Torment. I just want to farm and make money. I'd imagine they would just try to act like a Persona 3 & 4 scenario where they try to immerse you in some fake reality. I have no interest in waifus and relationships.

You don't have too have a relationship, if you don't want to. You can stay in bed and skip the 8 events. Or go mining, or fishing, or cropping.

Best to watch a video or two.

If you hate socializing period, maybe you'd have more fun with the Farming Simulator series. You just farm (with machinery) in that one. No NPCs ever.

Yes, we all hate Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon, that's why we liked Stardew Valley.

Please refrain from trolling, and also don't feed the troll.

Trolling? I was just asking a question, and they told me to pick up Farm Simulator so I will.

I can vouch for this game a lot. It's very addicting and you will like it a lot if you like Harvest Moon games. To me this game beats the Harvest Moons games by a long shot. I recommend it highly.

Interacting with people does have bonuses though. They have missions which can give you gold, at certain levels of friendship they send you recipes, and marrying one will have them sometimes water all your plants, etc.

If you really don't want to have any interaction with the socialization aspect (Since it is a major part, ignoring it would be taking away from the game) then I do recommend Farm Simulator. Iirc it's a pretty realistic farming game, and there isn't really human interaction.
