The Wizard says he's seen your future and that there will be dire consequences, or something like that. He's also looking for an apprentice and I think he only says that when you reach a certain relationship level with him.
Save for Linus, you're the only villager he interacts with and he's willing to send you on a potentially dangerous quest of getting his ink back.
There's also a thing in the Skull Cavern that says a hero will release something from its inprisonment from the wizard.

I want to say no because she didn't know what the bouncer was guarding or who the bouncer was. Who knows though, because Sandy isn't even her real name and raising your relationship with her doesn't reveal any more about her.
