Please help me understand wild seeds
Do both of these two things grow the same crop (ie. one of the foraged plants)?
1) the 30 seeds received as the Spring Bundle reward
2) crafting Wild Seeds from one of each Wild Horseradish, Daffodil, Leek, or Dandelion

Is there any point in growing the foraged plants or crafting seeds to grow foraged plants if I'm not planning on gifting until year 2?

Edit to clarify my question: This is all I could learn from the Wiki. It's not clear to me which, if any, of these yields normal spring crops. The term spring seeds is described as yielding forage items (see below).

Crafting: Wild Seeds (Sp) (Spring Seeds) An assortment of wild spring seeds. Ingredients: Wild Horseradish (1) Daffodil (1) Leek (1) Dandelion (1)
(Note: The crafted item is called "Spring Seeds." The recipe produces 10 seeds per craft.)

Spring Foraging Bundle: Spring Seeds (30)

"Spring Seeds are a type of seed. Mature plants yield, at random, a Wild Horseradish, Daffodil, Leek, or Dandelion."

"Wild seeds" can be used in any season. I'm not sure what crops they can grow, but there are several, depending on in which season you plant them.

The "Wild Summer seeds" and similar only work in their own season. Also, perhaps they have a different spawnpool of crops, but that I'm not sure of.
I assume, the 30 seeds are mixed seeds? they grow vegetables like potato or parsnip. the wild seeds grow daffodils, leek, dandelion and wild horseradish
The spring seeds, the mixed ones will grow any crop of that season that it is marked and can only be used in the noted season.

The actual mixed seeds, the ones that are not marked by a season will grow any crop. This one is based on the season currently in, so can be planted in any season to get the crop of that season. Only found in the wild.

About what I can remember from my own experience, that is if I remember correctly. Don't remeber much on the wild seeds that are marked by season you can craft with foragables. However might do the same as the spring seeds though.... (or what ever season it is marked with)

-These are the seasonal seeds that gives you the seasonal forageables when you plant them.
-You will grow the forageables of the season. No crops will come out of these.
-Seeds can be kept in chest for years, and planted whenever you want.
-Each season has its own seed.
-You can also craft these seeds in your crafting items menu.
-The community center gives a reward of summer seeds.

Hope it helps.

**Not to be confused with mixed seeds. These will give you random crops, related to your season. You can plant them whenever you want as well.

You will get spring forageables from your 30 spring seeds. Just plant the 30 seeds, and it will give you 30 spring forageables (daffodil, leek, etc).
The crafted wild seeds (sp) are the same as the one given from community center. I believe there's no difference.
If the Spring Foraging Bundle reward produces foraging item crops, I don't want to waste my 30 seeds foraging bundle reward byplanting them all while my farming level is low and since I'm not planning to gift until next year.

But if the crafted seeds produce normal crops, then I can avoid spending my limited gold on seeds.
Well I do remember them giving me crops of the season, but that was in prior versions... don't know if that has changed or not. Haven't played enough of the current update to find out yet. But before the season marked seeds would amount to any crop within that season, randomly. Will have to play more to confirm if was changed or not.

One to prefer seeing it for myself, than using the wiki. Just a preference. As sometimes can be inaccurate, especially right after an update hits. So those that have played more often might know more than myself. Limited time to play takes a toll. :P
Okay, that helps a lot! Would you suggest I hold onto my Spring Seeds since I'm not gifting yet? Isn't the main use for those forage items?
Unless you just want to make a bit of coin, or increase your forage skill from farming them... Especially early on. Then again I go by every little bit helps. So yeah if you want to use them for friending, mind as well just hold onto them.

I just talk to the townsfolk to friend them... and slowly get there in the end. :)
Thanks for your help!
i tried wild seeds and they were all the same foragable. my friends claims it was a mod he made me download but idk. pls help
Why don't you just take that mod out?

And for future reference, you would be better served starting a new discussion rather than resurrecting a three-year-old thread.
