I can't find any place to build coops in Hill top Farm
The overall map size seems too small i really can't find a place for the chicken and cow coop...

i placed my coop on the little hill just southeast of your house. there is also plenty of room southwest near the mineral deposits.

What there isn't much space for are pastures...

This has been my concern for a while. All I want is one deluxe coop and barn, but I really dont see where I can fit those and the grass for them.

I'm honestly thinking about starting a whole new game right now... well, i can actually fit those somewhere but the problem is, it doesn't look quite nice.

There is a new patch coming out to allow you to put buildings onto grassy areas. You'll still need to find a spot where you can plant grass, but you should have more space to work with.
I believe if you're on Windows you can get the patch now.

Yeah, bit of a shame you cant even fit minimal setups of the various things on most of the new farms. Can fit the buildings, but not enough grass.

IMHO the new maps are for people who already did the game once and now want a somewhat diferent experience.
Eventually you get so much money that planting a lot and having animals kind of become a chore.
These new maps IMHO are for people who really arent into the powerhunger play, but to enjoy the things in game that they enjoy the most.

This is what I'm planning on doing/did:
I placed my coop the floor below the house on the very right side. From stairs to stairs I placed a gate for the chickens to walk around in and it gives plenty of room. I'm planning on making the entire floor there just for coops.

The little island up top for the slime hutch, and the area closer to the mine I'm going to place the barns. I might be able to stick 2-3 of them and gate the entire area off for the animals to run around.

For fields and trees I'm going to place them in different spots around the farm. I'm actually planning on putting the fruit trees on the bottom of the map closer to the bridge that takes you to the little blank island.

For hives and flowers I want to place them around the grave to make it look pretty.

I don't know I spent a lot of time thinking about this. These new maps are going to take some creative thinking, but I think they're all doable. I wish you luck if you're still thinking about takign a crack at this map. c:

Are you serious or joking?

You can fit 4+a silo in the middle with plenty of room to experiment on optimal placement, surprisingly the mountain farm actually has the most space of all the maps when you truly look at it strategically.

I put mine[imgur.com] just north of that hill, I'm using the hill as a small orchard. I gated off the stairs/bridges and there's plenty of room, granted I'm only keeping a few animals. If I were to have full barn/coop I'd probably place one by the lake near the stone/ore deposit and the other where my livestock area is now.

I took a peek at the waterland farm and it looks MUCH harder to utilise for large scale farming..

I've managed to build 4 Sheds, 1 Coop/Barn, 3 Silos, 1 Mill and I still have room left for a Slime Hutch (if i ever feel like having one). I have about 300+ farm tiles which i could expand to maybe... a little less than 500? 450 minimum.

im nearing the end of Winter Year 2 and I already obtained all House Upgrades, ALMOST completed the Community Center (forgot about the Poppy) All my tools are Iridium, Greenhouse is almost filled with Ancient Fruit (i plant new seeds at the start of every season), two of each fruit tree are in the greenhouse along with 36 Preserve Jars for the Fruit (Fruit wont be Iridium Quality until Summer of year 5 or so)

oh, my planner idea might be efficient but that just looks lush and cozy.
Makes me sad for battery farming awwwww.

Going to go for good looks instead and change it up a bit now.

Am I missing something? I'm looking at the map of the hillside farm and there's several places to put it...

I would put the barn between the two bridges to the southwest land mass. I would put the chicken coop (if you can) right south of grandpa's shrine. There'd still be room to walk in the door, let them out, AND get to the shrine, assuming it lets you build there. Barring that, what about to the east of the quarry stairs? Or the hill south of your house?

There's several places. I don't see the problem. :S
