Riverland Farm 1.1 Ideas
Hi guys and gals. I just wanted to bring something up for those of us who chose or are planning to choose the Riverland Farm. Being the fishing fan that I am I feel that the Riverland Farm should get a unique fish since every other farm choice gets something unique (besides the Standard farm that is). The Forest Farm gets a unique weed that always drops mixed seeds; the Hill-top Farm gets a unique Geode-bearing rock; and the Wilderness Farm gets a unique enemy. But the Riverland farm? Oh you just get more fish than usual. Seems a bit underwhelming if you ask me. I want something unique in the form of a fish that you can only catch on your farm. I'm not asking that it even be a fish that is worth a lot of money, just something special. Do any of you feel the same way, and if so what kind of ideas would you like to see?

Ooh! That's a nice choice!
Heck I'd even take a unique algae or trash item.
The problem I'd have is you couldn't get the achievement for catching all fish unless you used that farm.
The unique geode bearing rock still only gives a simple geode, something that anyone on other farm layouts can still get, the weed still only drops but a simple mixed seed, something that anyone on other farm layouts can still get, honestly only good point is Wilderness getting a unique mob, and that's only because late game any farm layout can have monsters so they HAD to do that or else Wilderness has nothing special about it late game. Giving Riverlands layout a special fish, based on what's stated above, seems unreasonable.
Very good points. So if the fish is out, what about a unique algae or trash item?

I have to completely agree. The monster that the wilderness farm gives doesn't drop anything unique either. Each farm is pretty balanced compared to the others. The only change I might consider is to add access to lake fish aswell, but I'm on the fence about this one. No matter what, I'm pretty happy playing the riverland farm as it is.
I think it would be cool if the Riverland Farm had a unique Shortcut (via small boat) to the south shore. It is a one way shortcut. Don't ask how you keep getting boats for free. Charges and Fees may apply...

But still, I think it is an idea that should be considered. Getting mixed seeds AND hardwood trunks are both good money sources and time savers, much more so than the hilltop farm. I have not tried wilderness yet :(
Maybe remove the time/season requirement for certain fishes that only appers in certain time/season. Or maybe increase chances for treasure chests.
