Why does it matter to complete the Collections? Or Achievements?
I've read: items can only be added to the Collections tab through the use of the shipping box. What's the point of this? Is there a reward or rewards along the way? Or is this just personally satisfying to players?

I'm wondering the same about Steam Achievements too.

Not sure there's really any point to achievements, now that you mention it. Completing them is their own reward.

if you dont care much about the achievement itself, gaining achievements also unlock new hats at the hat shop

Isnt the achievements tied to what your grandpa has to say at the end of year 2? For example the more achievements you have the overrall higher score you get to earning that purple cat statue that produces free iridium.

Some of those give like 1 point, just having a million dollars is 7 points, community center done is 3. I dont know that id go out of my way to complete those for one point. Just getting married and petting your dog would get you the 12 needed for all candles if you make money and get community center done.

What about completing the Collections Tab? Are there any benefits or achievements along the way, or just complete?

No benefits as far as I know, unless having completed lists makes you feel good as a player.

For the "shipped items collection" there's an achievement.
For the "minerals" + "Artifacts" tab is an achievement (if you bring all of it to the museum).
For the "fish" tab there's an achievement (you have to catch them, not buy them).
There is no achievement for getting all achievements. =P
Also, in-game, the achievements all add hats to the hat-mouse's shop. For each achievement you get one extra hat.

Also, what is your question about the steam achievements? The whole "why do (steam) achievements matter" is not a question that can be answered. They don't do anything. Some people don't care, some people want to have them for bragging, some because they feel compelled to get 100%, some do it for the challenge.

This is obvious and is the same for each and every game on steam.

It's all about those hats! ^_^ (& there are some mighty fine ones!) Also, completing some, such as the museum collection, gets you quite a few goodies along the way. :brownchicken:

Now hats are definitely something I could get motivated by!
