MAC Black screen on start. Only birds chirping is what i hear. NEED HELP

Hey guys i was running the game smoothly and perfectly just yesterday but just now whenever i try to launch it. It just go blackscreen and the sounds are just birds chirping. If you do know how to fix this problem/issue, please reply because i really wanna get back playing.

Did you ONLY play the Mac Version of Stardew Valley via Steam, or did you also play the Windows Version on your Mac via Steam(which is possible if you wonder)?

Also, there seems to be an issue if you have installed the game "Dwarf Therapist" on some point.

I think you should try the sudo - command once (explained in the Link I posted above)

Well, all you gotta do is delete your appdata, apparently.

So find that somewhere on your Mac, it should work.

never installed drwaf therapist tho and already tried the sudo command nothing happened.


I'm currently redownloading the game and i have saved my save data.

i've fixed it! i deleted some file something called startup_preferences

I currently has the same problem on windows ever since the multiplayer update first launched.
