I personally like the forest farm (and default of course). From what I've noticed, the hardwood stumps regenerate and I like the foreging aspect. Although building and farming are a bit difficult since there's alot of permanent grass places. It's mainly frustrating for building, in most of my playthroughs, I don't really farm to the full extent others do. I also think it's super pretty, and I like the house design. Also how grandpa's shrine is a bit excluded from the rest of the farm.

I think the forest farm will be my favourite out of the newly added farms, but I still plan on experimenting with them all. Time to play 300 more hours of this game.
The default one by a large margin. It gives your enough plot space to generate large income right off the bat, specially if you are going for the solid 40 sprinkler rush (tho 50 is totally viable) the other ones are just plain bad for playing the game decently (unless you are just playing it casually) the wilderness layout should be a lot larger than the default one with the downside of having monsters roaming, but ironically, it is not. So im just going to stick with the default one for now.
I went with the fishing one. Fishing is my main source of income, not farming/crops. The extra land just wasn't being used in my old game.
I thought I'd go with the fishing one on my first 1.1 file buuuuuuut I'm starting to love the look of the foraging one; I really just want a beautiful looking farm tbh. I don't mind the more limited farming space on these maps.
Eventually, I'll do the fishing one, and maybe the wilderness/mining ones if I feel like it.

Now i think you can play this game any way you want to. With that said, i think this game is intended to play casually, and not intended for powerplaying. Just a thought.

Yeah.

And its nice to see different farming styles. Not just maximizing the usage of the area.
Well as you mentioned everyone has its playstile, mine is min/maxing to beat the game as fast as possible,as efficient as possible, and for my playstile the other farms are utter garbage, if you prefer beauty over effectiveness is totally understandable, but the thread questions was which one is "Better" not "Beautier" and by far, the default one is the most profitable and workable.

I'd say either the Default one or the Hilltop Farm.

Otherwise I'd probably choose the Forest one... but I have yet to check it out.
If you're gonna min/max the game to make the most money possible and beat it the fastest possible I think all the different farms are a godsend for you. You've prolly already beaten the default farm by now so why not add more difficult scenarios to do your min/maxing of those plots?
The default map is so boring!
Too easy, I got rich in second year!
What I do next just waiting for my Abby and animals to pregnant.
And I'm realize that I'm abandoning the bundle so much
I haven't played all the farm types- but so far default is my least favorite. I do play for the more immersive roleplaying aspect though, so I choose the farm based off of the character I make to play as. I enjoy the wilderness farm the most so far, but that's probably just the additional challenge and my more adventure seeking type farmer.
default map, too eaasy
Just put as many sprinkler as you can , wait to harvest then suddenly be rich!
In other map you have to think carefully where you put the building, especially for coop and barn.
My income cut almost half in hilltop map compared by default map
