Galaxy Dagger/Galaxy Hammer
Interesting thing I read up on with some of the Beta notes is that for those people fortunate enough to have acquired a Galaxy Sword, you can then purchase the Galaxy Hammer or Galaxy Dagger from Marlon (and a Galaxy Sword itself if you happened to lose your original).

Very nice that we've gotten top tier versions of all three weapon classes now. I'm definitely eager to see what is gonna be in store for us now for the combat update sometime in the future. Totally gonna rock the Galaxy Dagger as soon as I can in 1.1, though!

Why do you like the dagger, exactly? The sword is a good overall weapon, since it provides a defensive special attack and a wide arc to catch multiple enemies. The hammer can push enemies back for some breathing room, and hits hard.

The few times I tried using daggers, it usually missed, and flying enemies were nearly impossible to hit.

Well, I've always been a dagger sort of person when it came to RPGs where I could tailor my own character. Always been attracted to the Thief style of gameplay. Then again, when I played WoW I was a Warrior and in FFXIV, I main a Dragoon so... take it for what ya will, heh.

I suppose I'll see how they handle and then make my final decision afterwards. But I am eager to see what else is in store for us combat-wise since now all three current weapon classes have a definitive top tier version and are thus now all viable (instead of all of us being shoehorned into Galaxy Swords). New weapon types? Magic? I'm curious to see what the future holds!

It would be cool to craft some runes or totems for combat, but I think melee should remain the predominant combat type. I wish the slingshot would get some sort of buff or new use... Right now its only real use is explosive ammo for getting through the mines (and taking out mummies?) or taking out an enemy trapped behind rocks.

I wish there was a magic option too.

I wanted to like daggers in this game as well but like already said you get hit much easier than with the other weapons and miss a lot. Not a big fan of the special either, maybe if it was a spin attack or bonus crit% when using the special or soemthing it would be more useful.

The dagger weapons are great against slow enemies, and in situations where you can stunlock enemies against a wall. In my save I carry the Lava Katana, Bone Sword, Trident and Slingshot when I'm expecting a fight, and each of those weapons has saved my items with its different attack characteristics (Lava Katana and Bone Sword have the same attack pattern, but the Bone Sword is almost as fast as a dagger while keeping that wide arc; great for when I'm getting swarmed).

Slingshot + Irridium Ore as ammo is my answer to anything I don't want to fight directly (so, any time I have low health and don't want to risk any more damage). It's an expensive option... unless you have the Statue of Perfection, which I managed to get early on, so Irridium ore is hardly in short supply for me.

It's overkill, but I'm definitely looking forward to having that extra layer of safety nets. I'm not playing Stardew for its combat, after all, and while it was fairly interesting the first time getting down through the mines and skull caves, I'm not really excited to do it all again. Having these new Galaxy weapons to speed up the last (and hardest) part of that will definitely be a plus for me, and it will mean I basically don't have to worry about enemies outside of an intentional Skull Cave run... to me, that's how a game like this should go. Everything is a challenge until you've mastered it, but once you've proven that you've mastered it, you shouldn't have to go through the full grind every time.

The Dagger must be Godly considering its price....
Sword- 50,000$
Hammer- 75,000$
And the Dagger blowing them out of the water at 350,000$

I think that may be an error. The stats on the dagger aren't as good as the sword, IMO, so I haven't tried the $$$ dagger. But, as mentioned before, weapon preference depends on fighting style, and I like swords.
