Diamonds - Worth it?
I did some calculations on putting a diamond in the Crystalarium, and it seems there's no profit in it. It takes 150 per day, 5 days. Diamonds sell for 750....5x150 is 750, so is it really worth using a diamond in the Crystalarium?

''Trivia

The most profitable gem to grow for money is Diamond at 150 gold per day assuming the player harvests the gem as soon as it is ready (5 days).
A strong second contender is a gold star-quality Fire Quartz, which sells for 150 gold and takes only 22 hours to grow, ensuring that the player will be able to harvest a new Fire Quartz at the same time each day.
Putting Quartz in several Crystalariums is one of the most efficient ways to obtain Refined Quartz, due to it only taking 7 hours to produce.

Taken from the wiki.
So yes.

But if it sells for 750 and takes 750 in total to grow, how does that make profit?

Its free Diamonds after the first one you put in, it's all profit from there. Once you put one in you never have to put another in. Unless it stops at some point, but I havent seen it yet.

It will keep producing from the first one put in unless you change it to something else. The diamond is consumed by putting it in there, so switching to something else will cause the initial diamond to be lost.

The 150 is what you are basically getting if you average it out per day. It makes more money on average than cloning other minerals.

It is worthwhile because you only put the diamond in there once, after that it produces diamonds infinitley on a 5 day cycle.
So essentially after the first harvest it is free money because you already payed for the diamond you used to start it.

I keep diamonds for gifts since it's quit easy to accumulate after getting a few crystalariums. I usually make most of my profits from ancient fruit and ancient fruit wine

Mhm, that's nice. I used to do that with amethysts (For Abigail). A diamond factory would be nice for an infinite amount of them. I will have to try that on new game when 1.1 update comes.
