how do i return to previous floors in skull cavern?
so im now able to go to the desert and i got through 15 floors in the skull cavern quickly, but unlike the normal mine, theres no elevators. is it possible to return to previous levels in the skull cavern and if there is, how?

You can't, your best bet is to use bombs to find holes to get down quickly.

There is no elevator. As dino_inc said, either progress down using ladders or holes (you will progress faster with the latter, but take damage as you do so as well)

Take food, bombs, in addetion to your pickaxe sword and hoe.
