BLACKSCREEN FOR MAC [PLease Help] (TERMINAL, Sudo Chown)

So I Tweeted @Stardew Shane for help on the BLACKSCREEN bug for mac and sent me this. I did all the steps, but when I put the password is says "Chown: StardewValley: No such file or directory" does anybody know what to do after that? Tweeted me back that he is busy with PAX but i want to play the game today.. please help..

Yea. The easiest way is to select Stardew Valley from your Library. Then right click it, and select "Properties".
There's a tab in the new window that says "Local Files"; click that.
And, then click "Browse Local Files".


It should bring up the Stardew Valley game files. The "Content" folder is where you install the mods. It'd be best to backup any file you replace. But yea, copy the mod's XNB file to the appropriate directory, and you should be all set.

Alright, but I want to download a mod called C J B Item Spawner. what folder do I put that in? and thank you for all the help your giving me C:

Unfortunately, the Item Spawner, and the other SMAPI based mods aren't compatible with the Mac version of the game just yet. It's due to the code differences. Modders are slowly working on it though.

The simplest workaround for giving yourself items would be to use Wine: https://www.winehq.org/download

The other way would be to use the Windows version of the game(in Wine) & then attempt to run smapi & the mod that way. But, it's a lot of work; and not quite guaranteed as mods get updated.
